Making own clothes ,3rd world country, absurd comment!

Posted in Daily Farm Life

The other evening I was watching a program(Nancy Grace) about the 'compound' that was raided I believe in Texas and the children were removed from the polygamist camp, and the correspondant that was being interviewed commented that the women were made to live like a 3rd world country.....when ask why he said that...he explained that women had to make their own clothes...LOL...I began laughing and told my hubby that I knew several women that lived in a 3rd world country if that was the case...LOL...I personally found that comment not only absurd but ignorant...since when is sewing clothing a 3rd world country task? Does anyone else find that comment absurd??

Absolutely absurd! I also noticed that they refered to their clothing as pioneer style clothing. I thought their dresses looked cute.

It sounds absurd because if you don't sew your own clothing, then you buy it, and if you buy it, where is it made? A third world country. So how is living in America and sewing your own clothes like living in a third world country??? I pray for those women and children, though. A terrible situation all around.
