Strange clutch of eggs
This has been the strangest clutch of eggs our little red hen has ever set...All the egss were put under her within 3 days of each other and here we are on day 6 after the 1st egg hatched and she is still hatching eggs...we now have 5 baby chicks...unless more hatched last night...she is hatching them 1 at a time and days apart....anyone else ever seen this happen?....I have taken each chick she hatched, put them in a box with a light so she will continue to set the other eggs and not leave the nest...I have never seen eggs hatch out like this...normally she will hatch them all with a day or 2...we also have a duck setting on about 20 eggs...lol...not sure how many ducks I will wind up with...our hen is also setting on some duck eggs, so we may have more ducks than chickens before much longer...Will post pictures in a day or 2.

this made me chuckle! do not know why, exactly, but it did. maybe one day I will be able to have poultry!
