Winter Weather Wednesday

The weatherman missed it again! Poor guy. We woke up to a winter wonderland. He was calling for a few snowflakes and we ended up with several inches! Just the reverse of last week! It's absolutely beautiful though. This is one of my favorite things about living in a woods--the freshly fallen snow. I did manage to capture a few pictures and we'll try to enjoy it today. It may be our last snow fall of the winter, so we'll make snow some ice-cream to celebrate. The schools are closed, so I gave the older two the morning off. They're are out with their dad in the woods, dragging up some logs to split. We'd been meaning to get that done, but it's been too muddy.
I put a pot of beans and ham on for their lunch and will make some cornbread and a Sugar Cookie Cake while my youngest works on his reading. It's my friend Heidi's recipe and it's so good.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Sugar Cookie Cake
3/4 c. cold butter
3 c. flour
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
Mix butter, sugar, and flour into crumbs. Reserving 1 cup of crumbs.
To the rest of the crumbs, add the buttermilk to which the 1 tsp. of baking soda has been added.
Add the eggs and vanilla; mix and bake in a greased 9x13" pan.
Top with the 1 cup reserved crumbs.
Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes (or until cake tester comes out clean).

While I'm in the kitchen this afternoon, I need to season some new cast iron cookware that I bought. The boys have been asking for fried potatoes and they taste best in a cast iron pan. My soap supplies are scheduled to be delivered tomorrow! I can't wait!
Many of you have asked about my health and doctor's appointments. Thank you for your messages, concern and prayers. My appointment with the neurologist didn't go as well as I had hoped. It seems that "something" is definitely going on. I have right sided weakness and loss of balance and sensation. It's not severe, but I had noticed it because my sewing and handwriting was a bit different and difficult. I also have blurred vision in my right eye. Anyway, he is ordering several tests (EEG, EMG, VER, MRI) to try to get to the bottom of it. He said there are many diseases that can cause this and based some of my other symptoms, he is looking at MS first. So, I would appreciate any prayers that you have to offer up. I do have peace about it and I know who my source is.
Enjoy your day!

Blessings dear one. It truly is true that He is the comforter. His peace is not of this world and having that is soooo valuable. I am believing that all is in His hands as His will comes forth to make what is wrong right. I Thank Him for what is coming as it is written "Fear Not" and your faith has healed thee makes it so. His best to you, rilda

Thanks for the update on how you've been doing health wise. I've been thinking about you! I'll pray for you too that God would continue to give you peace and that He would give the doctors wisdom.
I hope you can enjoy your winter wonderland. It sounds so cozy. Here it is nice one day - making me think Spring and then cold again the next. You never know what to wear in the morning!

I am so glad to hear that they have ruled out MS. My mother has suffered from MS for 20 years now. It can be a terrible disease. I'm sure it has been mentioned to you a hundred times by now, but you don't eat or drink any artificial sweeteners, do you? I will be eager to see how you do, and what wisdom the Lord gives the doctors. Blessings....

I have been told that many of my symptoms are those of MS, also. So far I am refusing the MRI as I have reactions with the dye used in these types of tests.

Oh Amy, I'm so sorry that your health is the way it is; and although the dr. couldn't shed some happy news now (hopefully later), I am fervently praying that you will soon have a answer (correct diagnosis) and for much wisdom and discernment in a treatment and peace through it all. It would just be nice knowing what "we're" up against. I am joining with you in prayer and you know, where two or more are gathered...
Our God is bigger than all this and He is able.
