The 12 Blogs of Christmas (A Contest for You!)
**This post will remain at the top until December 21. Please scroll down to read my new entries. Thank you!**
I was thrilled when I was contacted by HomeschoolEstore (my favorite online curriculum site) and asked to participate in The 12 Blogs of Christmas! For starters, I have been paired with a fantastic publisher Knowledge Box Central, and am excited to say that I will be posting an interview with them within the next few days. We're using their lapbooks right now and love them!
Now, onto the contest details and rules...
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
1. "HomeschoolEstore's 12 Blogs of Christmas" contestants may enter only 2 of the 12 total contests.
2. HomeschoolEstore employees and their families, as well as their publishers and families are not eligible to participate.
3. The winner will be chosen by an esteemed panel of judges (my family) on December 21, 2007, and will receive a generous $50 gift certificate from HomeschoolEstore!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
My contest is a simple one. As you know, I adore old photographs. I've had this one in my collection for some time and I think it needs a caption. If you don't have a blog and would still like to participate, please email me at SimpleFolkBlog@ aol . com (remove spaces). Also, if you are not a registered homesteadblogger user, please leave your blog link or email address so that I may contact you if you are the winner!
So tell me, what are these homeschool children thinking?

Leave your comment here and please link back to this contest on your blog to spread the word! Have fun!

Friday, December 7, 2007 - The Wood Family Guess is....
Posted by blessingsbaound
Okay, here is my guess with the help of my hs kiddos! :-)
Boy #1- "Momma when you're done with taking this picture can I hold Papa's musket?"
Boy #2- "Don't be silly! You're too little.. I'll carry the musket!"
Boy #4- "Momma please hurry; daddy needs us out in the field."
Boy# 3- Leans over to brother #4 and whispers, "Don't rush Momma. Papa wanted us to get this picture for Nana and Grand dad before they arrive for Thanksgiving Dinner"
Girl #1- "Would you all just be still and smile?! You boys can be impossible at times!"
Okay, that does it for the Wood family guess! We had fun!!
Have a wonderful night with your family! Love, Mrs. Joseph Wood

Hello Mrs. Amy-
Thank you! Yes, it was so much fun to run in and tell Mom what we found! Soon we will have lots more! That will be a great blessing!
"There's nothing like fresh eggs and collecting them-" I agree! I have had farm fresh eggs from a neighbor, and they were SOOO good!
I hope your girls do sometime soon!
I don't like the snow! :)
Very cute picture on the post! I think it's a precious thing to see something like that!
Love,
Rachel

How about...
"Awwww shucks Ma, do we have ta pose for another picture for your blog?"
Poor Charlotte/Charlie - she must be terribly confused. But just think, she can probably be on Dr. Phil now as a trans-gender cat. On better thought, maybe its best just not to let the cat out of the bag.
Blessings to You and Yours,

mmmm....(song from Sesame Street)
"Four of these kids belong together
Four of these kids are kind of the same
But one of these kids is doing her own thing
Now it's time to play our game
It's time to play our game."

Your blog is soooo pretty. I love the old fashioned pictures you have everywhere on your post, even the side bars and on top. I love the "wallpaper" on the sides - it looks so vintage. I love your music, too. I feel like I'm walking into one of those lovely old stores that bring you back to yesteryear.

Why make us learn this play when there is no one around for miles and miles to see it?
It's really funny the little boy in the middle looks like my brother when he was that age. My first thought was OH not another picture, but if this is a 'real' old picture and not one made to look old then they probably didn't take many pictures back then. Also, I suspect they are in character instead of just looking frustrated and angry. Coming up with captions are the hardest thing! I might ponder on this some more.
