A Thursday Morning
It's still early here and all is quiet. So far this morning I have gathered a couple of eggs (production is slow these days) enjoyed toast with blueberry lime jam, coffee with cream, and pulled my flip flop from the jaws of the puppy...twice.
Yesterday's labors produced twenty more quarts for storage. Ten quarts of tomato juice, ten quarts of pearsauce. Middle Son is under the weather and has been for a couple of days now. Seems it's just a cold, but that's enough to make anyone feel poorly. It reminded me that I need to start going through our medicine and remedy chest to make sure that we are prepared for winter. Winter. It's so hard to think of it when it's been ninety all week!
Tomorrow morning I go for tests. Two hours of MRI's. I am not looking forward to it, but trying to remember who will be right there with me in the room. Every test and trial I have had has made Jesus so real to me, as though he was right there holding my hand...
"For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee." Isaiah 41:13
Well, I have several things to get accomplished today. There are lessons to teach, laundry to hang and a meal plan to make for the next two weeks. Once that is all done, there are pears, of course. And I just bet that if I walk back to the garden, there will be some tomatoes as well...

Wow, sounds like you're still really busy with harvesting. We've been done around here for several weeks. Had I known we'd be getting this much rain earlier than usual, I would've planted a Fall garden. It takes a lot of water for it to get going down here.
Sounds like the Sick Season has already begun at your house. I'm not looking forward to that at all.
Have a great day~

...Yes, you and I should get together for lunch or something sometime. That would be fun.
BTW...I noticed that you latch-hook rugs. Where do you find your patterns/kits? All I seem to find are silly, childish-type patterns/kits and I'm looking for something more country/folk art.
Blessings, Kim Wolf<><

It's been a LONG time since I've been around your way. There just don't seem to be enough hours in the day to "enjoy" the leisurely blog reading; I'm sure I'm missing some cool entries about your ancestors. :-(
And I'm sorry to hear about more tests! So...how did they go? I saw the date on your entry was last Th.
Not to burst your bubble about me, but that lit. guide took about a week to create. Truly, writing curriculum is EASY compared to writing the books! Oh, how I agonize over those plots and scenes! I"m agonizing right now on Book 5. I will usually pick anything to do rather than try and write a chapter. I LOVE writing the curriculum for the books. I'm going to do it for the other 3, as well, although I don't think they will be as extensive, as they are not as historical (factual) as book 4 is.
Hey, thanks for putting a plug in at your friend's bookstore. If you would like to give her some bookmarks, just e-mail me your address, and I'll send you a bunch!
