This recipe came from the back of Grandma's Molasses, a store bought molasses not from my grandma.
1/2 cup molasses 1 cup ketchup 1/4 cup vinegar 1/4 cup mustard 2 T Worcestershire Sauce (kinda sounds like "what's this here sauce" if you say it real fast) 1 clove garlic 1/4 t pepper 1/4 t hot pepper sauce
I have used this to make BBQ chicken, BBQ beef, BBQ venison, and just a dipping sauce. It is very good. We have started keeping a pint jar of it in the frig just in case someone might want some BBQ sauce to go with whatever.
I hope you enjoy.

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content
I think I'll give this one a try too....wonder if you can "can" it? With a family of 10, we go thru near a whole bottle of sauce at one mealtime!
Also, wanted to let you know, I added you to my 'friends' list..and would be glad to be on yours. I see your link to bread beckers...do you also bake bread? I have a bosch and whisper mill and bake bread often. Even my kids love it, which I find amusing since I 'hated" wheat bread as a kid.
Anyhow, I think we have a lot in common :D so I added you to my friends list!
The recipe for BBQ sauce sounds really nice. Can you buy BBQ sauce in a bottle in America? My favourite was to use it is in a hamburger with the lot as we call them here. With fried eggs, onion rings, even canned pineapple rings, lettuce, tomato, beetroot, that type of thing, beef patty and toasted bun.
I don't have a bottle of the Eta one here to check what the ingredients are.
I feel much better now Darby. We buy a large tomato sauce plastic bottle mostly every fortnight and it is hard to keep up to isn't it? When we were first married we made our own. It seemed to have less sugar.
The BBQ sauce manufacturer says they have paprika and malt vinegar in there and it is "used as an accompaniment to steak and other meats. Shake well before use. Thick rich and tasty it is ideal as a sauce or marinade. Brush on meat before grilling, add to hamburger mix or combine with sour cream as a dip for potato wedges."
