~ Got Dirt? ~

Making the Empire Christmas Pudding, 1926-1939 by F. C. Harrison

   Prior to My beloved departing back to Iraq after his 18 days of r&r, Jason got a craving for a silly concoction that I have made a couple times before..... Its called dirt cake and its a wonderfully tasty, late summer treat. I would love to share a pic of mine but ummmm lets just say it was gone before you could say CHEESE

DIRT CAKE/OREO COOKIE DESSERT

1 pkg. crushed Oreos (reserve 1 cup for topping)
1/3 cup butter
2 pkg. (3 ounces each) instant vanilla pudding mix (or any flavor)
1 1/2 cups milk
1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened
1 12 oz Frozen Cool Whip
 package of gummy worms

  1. Chop cookies very fine in food processor. The white cream will disappear.
  2. Mix butter, cookie crumbs, and sugar in bowl.
  3. In a large bowl mix milk, pudding and Cool whip together.
  4. Combine pudding mixture and ice cream mixture together.
  5. Layer in flower pot, starting with 1/2 the cookies then cream mixture. add remaining cookies on top . ( dont forget to hide a few gummy worms in there)
  6. Chill until ready to serve.
  7. Add artificial flower and trowel. Enjoy!
