~ BLOGGER FRIEND SCHOOL...keeps going and going ~

How do you keep energized so you can get it all done? bouncy music? treat it like a workout? Do you use a schedule?, a housekeeping binder system? luck of the draw system?.. or is this an area where you need encouragement? Do you need God’s help to keep order and beauty in your dwelling place? Take this week to tell us how You diligently keep going with your housekeeping chores
.

________________________________________________________________________

How do I keep energized?hmm lets see I give myself a nice cup of joe(thats been my breakfast lately during this move)and I do play music especially songs from Casting Crowns, Caedmans Call, ect anything that is positive and encouraging and as of late since I started this move to the home we just purchased(see POST here) that new song Empty Me by Chris Sligh...If you have not heard the song I want to encourage you to do so, as I believe this song is so befitting for those of us yearning to purge not just our homes for "fall cleaning" but spiritual as well.

Do I need GOD's help in this area of my life, you bet your bottom dollar, but I know He helps me by leading me to fellow blogger and friends who share their  simple suggestions and helpful idea's. I have learned more by listening and reading from folks like you all than I ever did in my childhood home...as my mother was a working mother(not to condemn her as she was pretty much a single mother raising 5 children) and I am thankfull to the Lord for leading me to you ladies, I have grown spiritually, wifely, and motherly in these past 2 years than I ever did before.... Do I continue to look to the Lord to show me which areas of my life still need help...Yep, even if its after trying to figure it out on my own and realizing I should know better than to go Independantly.. but I press on cause the way I see it I am still under construction and until my head stone reads, end of construction thank you for your patience, I will still have many more seasons of life to learn and go through...
Anyhow I can see my post for this episode of Blogger Friend School has gone a lil bit to the right, so I am going to end it with saying this, The Home is What you Make it, Always leave it in better shape than it was when you first got it, so make your house a HOME, not just a roof over ya head.

PS: I will be without internet access until the 8th of Oct so this is my last post until then...when I get back I will share photos of the move and what we been up too.... until then toodles

~ BLOGGER FRIEND SCHOOL..... Assignment 102 ~

The assignement this week is a task to do something nice for someone other than yourself.
Although I havent done the assignment yet I can tell you already what the Lord is laying on my heart to do and that is to write a much needed letter to a few people I have not hand written to in a few years. I have been so wrapped up in the house buying drama that I have seen my love of writing letters back slide... I am sure I began to let the letter writing back slide many months before, but its only been now that I have realized how quickly that time has since passed. Prior to reading the assigntment set before me on the Blogger Friend School website I had already been thinking about the few folks in my life that I hold dear, even if its been a while since I sat down and did a real live hand written letter to them and telling them about our newest news, the sentimental side of me misses them very much and I do think about them often and pray for them. So thats what I am going to do sit down at the kitchen table and not the computer desk, and write them a letter letting them know how our lives have been since we last were in touch. And before I lick that envelope to place it in the mail box I will pray that they recieve it as a surprize with hopes of a returned reply.

So what good thing will you do this week that will show the love of Christ in your life, remember no good deed goes left un appreciated pass on the Hospitality, you may be surprized at how much you Like it!

~ Blogger Friend School Assignment #2 ~

Assignment: This would be a good week to tell about your worst struggles with a lifestyle of homeschooling.  Tell about something you’ve struggled with and how God’s mercies gave us the strength to get past it.  Also, share any curriculum/homeschool methods that have been a relief to you, i.e., a particular Teacher’s Manual or Homeschooling method that’s been easier for your family.  Talk about how you felt when the burden was lifted and Oh, What a Relief it is!

The main thing I struggle with as far as homeschooling goes is trying to maintain a clean and orderly home. I am a person that suffers greatly with too much stimuli. And what I mean by that when the kids and I are doing lessons I need the house to be picked up so I can concentrate on that. When I have too many things catching my eye or brain and then remind me of what's got to be done I get a overwhelm sense of  disorder and chaos. Take right now for instance we have been trying to close on a house for a while and because we were supposed to have closed 4 contract extensions ago my home and our area of homeschooling(the kitchen table) is completely in disarray with boxes that are taped up and some re opened because now I am needing to get into them.  In fact I am a lil bit stressed because for several days now I have been trying to find my daughters spelling and dictation book and I have a feeling I packed it up.....But which HomeSchooling box did I do it in..( see I packed up the stuff I didnt anticipate on using until much later in the year but I think I may have accidently thrown in her spelling and writing stuff). Anyhow thats my main thing as far as homeschooling goes,,,, just keeping other things in order so that all parts of my day can sail somewhat smoothly.

Currently we have found MFW(My Fathers World) to a be our life saver for this year as far as curriculum goes, as I love the way the planner just tells me what do each day. This definaltly helps me as last year I was a lil bit lost and over my head for having to plan out the daily lessons for the curriculum we had used.  So that I am most greatful to where the Lord lead me to teach for now and YES that is a relief.

UPDATE: PS: I thank all my fellow Homeschool blogger buddies for all their help in keeping me insane

~ Blogger Friend School...... Oh What A Feeling. ~

Ok for those of you joining in on the Blogger Friend School our first one is up.

Assignment: Take time this week to write about YOU and your feelings of trials and triumphs with homeschooling.  Touch on when you first heard about the concept of home schooling and whether you tip-toed into the idea or just jumped in and never looked back.  Share your schooling as a child and how you compare it to what your goals are for your children.

*** Ahh my feelings on homeschooling, lets see when the idea was first thrown at me many years ago my daughter was but about 3 years old and it was my mother encouraging me to take on such a task at the time I literally laughed and said NO THANK YOU. It actually wouldnt be until Spring of 07 that I actuall would even consider it, but that was because the Lord pressed Homeschooling so much in my heart that there was no way I could just ignore that command. At first I thought it was to homeschool my daughter but then the Lord pressed into my heart to home school our son as well, so then  much prayer and research began for me into wanting all there was to know about homeschooling. One of the first things I did was stumble across a blog hosting site called Home School Blogger, there I would meet several fine ladies( ahem, Jenn, Jane, Jo Ann...( alot of J's) who were full of honest information about the up's and the downs, but mainly up's, little did they know I would become their personal stalker.

As a child I was public school taught, I had went to small schools with the same kids in my grade level( pretty much my class was the only class for that grade so on so forth) until Highschool where I was then one of 221 students in my grade class. There are plenty of up's and down's but I most remember school as a breeding ground for clique's and rude classmates. I had maybe one or two few close friends but then most of my "other" friends were older and I pretty much got along better with the teachers  while in high school than I did any one in my age group. As a kid though I did give the teachers a run for their money as most of my report cards would label me as Lil Miss Chatter Box, or Jeannie cant sit still, Jeannie is disruptive( hence talking), Yep I was a talker there wasnt any topic I never kept my mouth shut too, plus I had high opinions of things and was not afraid to say that to a teacher I felt was being unfair(regardless if it was against me or someone else) another reason I was BORED!!! Course if I was a kid today in school I am sure they would label me as ADD and ADHD and try and convince my mom to give me Ritalin. Ha Ha.... Even to this day I cant just sit, I gotta be doing plenty of other things to keep me moving. So when my son entered Kindergarten in public school and he got the same remarks and what not I took it in stride, and was like how can we expect kids that age to just sit in a class room for 6 hours with only a 30 min lunch recess.... I was like you gotta be kidding me.

So that leads me to how I approach the schooling with my two kiddo's, when my kids start getting restless during lessons we have alloted what we call a "spaz" moment, its where I say ok who needs a Spaz time and if any one of the kids or both need that or shoot even me, we go out into the back yard and run around like crazy. This has helped us take a break and get re energized and able to concentrate on what needs to be done. Now as far as maybe goals, its hard to say I just want my kids to grow up with integrity, and ya know if they wanna flip burgers for a living thats fine as long as its something they are honest in dealing, and show the same respect to all peoples in all professions, and if College is in their futures great but its not something we are going to mandate or make them feel pressured in doing(something I hated as a kid, being told if you wanna be someone you gotta go to college blah blah blah).

Anyhow this completes my first lesson in the blogger friend school home work assigntments, and if you are joining in on this let me know I would love to visit and take a peek in your binder. Ha Ha
