~ My Less Than Perfect....Utility Room ~ |
Here are a few shots of my Less Than Perfect But Still Beautiful Laundry/Pantry Room

Good Luck getting in that room
Oh I sure hope there isnt any laundry
in that washer that I forgot about

EEEK Too much stuff so little room to move around in...
So Whats A Domestic Diva to do?
Oh Yes I know now....Just tackle it in increments and get the job done!

You see this pretty tall thing....I just picked her up from freecycle and she stands perfect there on that side of the wall.... She is so gracious to house our microwave and on the bottom cabinet inside she holds my crock pot, toaster and griddle...and to top it off(he he) she is kind enough to keep hold of my canning jars and equipment..Isnt she grand..
Whats so ironic about her is that the family that gave her to me were the same family that gave me my moving boxes...I just Love Freecycle....Dont You!

Friday, October 24, 2008 - Wowee, I love a bargain hunter! |

Very good deal! We bought our living room furntiure, which is REALLY nice, on craigslist for only 300.00. They threw in a beautiful tv armoir for FREE.
We're also preparing for children when we finally move into our own home spring or fall of next year. We had hopes to have them now in our rental, but it wasn't meant to be with certain things concerning our landlord. In the meantime, I found a bunkbed for just 100.00 and also a crib with baby armoir that the person lowered to give me for 100.00 ALL worth ALOT more than I paid for them.
I've found on Craigslist that you can bargain. I've NEVER paid what the people were asking. If they wanted me to take it off their hands, they'd have to bargain. I received the used crib bedding almost new from Pottery Barn kids which was well over 400.00 for just 50.00. We have everything now with exception to the twin mattresses for the bunk beds.
Everything in our home was either free like yours or bought on craigs list with exception to one thing. Our kitchen table. It's the one room we plan on spending quality time with our children, eating, talking about life, and sometimes if not in our living area, on the table with Bible reading and/or devotionals.
The kitchen table we put on layaway at a local mom and pop shop who made it out of wood. Not only did we do our part to keep a mom and pop business open, but we bought a table to surround our home with conversation about Christ our Lord and Savior. Other than that, nothing else is new and I like it like that. I like HISTORY in items. To make them your own.
Thanks for your post. I also put the lyrics on the my post like you suggested. Thanks for stopping by dear friend! |

It all looks great. I love that cabinet. I need something like that in our kitchen too. I guess I should check out freecycle. :)

Great Job Jeannie! I sure like all the freebies you are finding. Your organization job is great.
Sorry to hear about Barbara, but glad you found her and put a closure on that story. Does that mean you will get chicks next spring? We have 4 roosters you are welcome too. lol They were so funny, 2 or 3 of them have become naughty/mean, but about mid-morning when we went out to muck, we see all four of them in the neighbor's horse pasture. I called for them, "Come on babies!" and they all come running, side-by-side. It reminded me of "Here we come, walking down the street..." by the Monkeys. lol
Have a good weekend my friend! Sorry I havn't been keeping up with your news. I'll try to do better.
Blessings,
