For some reason I remember fondly a Christmas when I was about 9 or 10.  We lived in San Diego, CA since my father was in the Navy.  We usually woke up and opened our presents and then Dad would make a wonderful breakfast with pancakes or Dutch Babies and home-made doughnuts.  It was always yummy!  I can't really remember what I received that year (a TV, maybe?!) but I do remember wearing my new track suit (I think it was light blue) and having to walk the trash bags loaded with boxes and Christmas paper down to the dumpster - in the pouring rain!! - several times!

Isn't it funny the things we remember?
