30 Day Challenge for Wives

Posted in 101 Things I Love About My Husband

Yesterday, I shared that Amy over at Home Sweet Simple Home had honored her husband by starting a category entitled “101 Things I Love About My Husband” and that I was going to steal her idea.

I haven't started my list yet but I wanted to share some other thoughts about how women can appreciate and honor their husbands. This is a topic that I've been working lately so that I can learn to put my husband's needs above my own and truly honor him.

Here are some links to my favorite resources from Revive Our Hearts

31 Days of Praying for Your Husband

I also recommend reading the book The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman.

If you don't already know what they Five Love Languages are, I highly suggest you take a look at the website and maybe even buy the book. It gives wonderful information about the way we all give and receive love. (This is a good source to figure out your children, too!)

Well, it's a start anyway.

I just thought of something sweet that my husband does for me. It might sound silly but, I really love that my husband thinks enough of me to track down my cell phone so that he can plug it into the charger each night...just in case I forgot (which I often do) and I have a phone to use in case of emergency.

If, like me, you sometimes forget to encourage your husband I challenge you to join me in the 30 day challenge....and let me know how things are going for you.

Hello! I just gotta share the book that put things into perspective for me: A Wife After God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George. Phenomenal book! I highly recommend you and everyone else read it! I really found a true grasp of my God-given role as wife and mother thru that book (and the study guide was mucho helpful too! Get both if you can splurge).
Mrs. George writes of asking our husbands each day the following: "What can I do for you today? What can I do to help you make better use of your time today?"
I must say that the first few times I mumbled these questions to my husband . . . . felt funny on my tongue but I have to say "try it and see what happens!"
Oh and I thought of this as I read your post- why don't you surprise your hubby by putting a little post-it note on your cell phone that says "Thanks. I love you." It is so wonderful that he goes out of his way to do something that is seemingly so small and insignificant but that touches your heart so deeply.
I say- let him know!!!
Blessings to you my friend-
Amy W

Thanks for the sites and information. This comes at a great time. We've been moving and the stress has been tremendous. Our marriage-which has always been above and beyond the norm-has suffered. Thanks again.
