Baby Greens
I have been taking care little lettuce plants. We planted most of them on January 17,'07. We are suppose to keep the temperature as high as  60 degrees during the day and as low as 30 degrees at night. We usually keep them in the laundry room with a grow light. But when the sun is out, we put them outside.

We planted sweet salad mix that has some things like, bull's blood beet, Bloomsdale spinach, Black simpson lettuce, Ruby lettuce and tendergreen mustard. We also planted Gourmet Blend that has some of the red lettuces. And we planted Spicy Mix.

After 24 days we ate the first thinnings. They were good.

We first started putting the plants outside Feb 9. The temperatures were ranging from 45 degrees to 65 in the sun, close to the deck.

The lettuce in two of the trays is very thick in the middle. But it is thin on the ends. Because the ones on the end are not getting enough light all the time. Our grow light isn't wide enough to give light evenly. So we have been turning the trays.  In one of our trays we have been getting mushrooms. So we have been weeding them out.
