The Lord's Prayer -

Matthew 6:7-13
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Some News...

Posted in My Daily Life

I wanted to post some news of the things I have been doing around here...

Of my drawing for my blog-friends:

I wanted to tell all of you that I have been working on some drawings for some of my blog-friends, particularly the Novak’s. They came up for Amanda’s party last Saturday, a week ago tomorrow, and her birthday was a week ago today.

The reason I am drawing them for them is because I wouldn’t show Eric my other drawings and so I told him I would send them some. Well, I have finished them all and I am going to send them as soon as I get the letter Elizabeth sent me.

Marmee is a very good artist. She loves to draw and sketch. She has made up a book called “How to draw Hollyhocks”. I have not had the pleasure of reading or looking at it, but I am going to get it as soon as I can! In the GHC (Girlhood Home Companion), there is a post she wrote about how to plant a good character, and she uses growing flowers as the design for doing it. Here is the poem she put at the front of the article:

Sow a thought, and you reap an act;
Sow an act, and you reap a habit;
Sow a habit, and you reap a character;
Sow a character, and you reap a destiny.

This is very true... If you have the most recent issue of the GHC, you know what the article says. She is a very good writer, and very good Marmee! Love you, Marmee! Oh, the Novak’s sent me a birthday package, but I won’t know what is in it until my birthday. It’s the rule that we can’t open packages until the day of our birthday. She said she really wants what Marmee gave me, so it must be a good one!

I also drew a picture for another blog-friend: Jessica. She is eleven-years-old, and is very sweet. Here is username: jessica0439. She doesn’t have a blog on here; only on homeschoolblogger. I drew it for today, and I will be sending it to her as soon as possible.

I also drew two pictures for Sharla, if you haven’t been to her blog already, you can go see it!

I had told Eric to go there to see what a bad artist I really am (he didn’t believe me) and he said to me in a comment: “whatever/duh/der. I told you you could draw.” What do you think of my drawings?

I can draw anyone a picture. Just tell me what you want me to draw, and I will see if I can draw it for you. I really like drawing birds, plants and flowers. I have tried to draw Daisy, but it didn’t look like her at all!

Of Movies:

Amanda
got The Notebook from the library, and we watched (parts of) it the other night. I couldn’t watch the whole thing because there was some stuff in it, but I got the storyline down. It’s about this woman who is an older woman and she has Alzheimer's, and she has a notebook/journal that she wrote in the cover of “If I can’t remember this, read it to me.“ So her husband is telling the story of how they met, and how they married. It’s sad the way they ended it, though. They die.

The other movie I got to see was Spider-Man 3. I liked the last half of it. He acts like a nit-wit for the first half of the movie. But I liked the way the characters were played out. Harry and Peter team up to defeat The Sandman and Venom. He acts really stupid when he has the Venom in him, but he doesn‘t get it until half way through the movie. I enjoyed watching it. It’s action packed, and has some very funny on some parts.

Seen any good movies lately?

Of Books:

I am still reading Treebeard. Since Amanda’s birthday, I haven’t been able to get back onto reading it everyday. But I will.

Have you heard of the HSB Literary Club? Mom and Amanda are now moderating of it. We got the book we are going to be discussing a few days ago. It’s called “The Hedge of Thorns”. It’s a very thin book, only 90-some pages long, and it won’t take that long to read. We are hoping to start it soon. You can still be a part of the discussion, just get the book, and you can follow up on where we are!

Of Our Animals:

We are still trying to get the horses sold. We haven’t had anymore people come by to look at them. The lady still wants Dulcy, and I’m hoping we can keep Estrella. It’s in God’s hands!

All the rest of the animals are fine. Daisy is fine too!

Alright, I think that is all for this post! Please stop over at my homeschool blog and read the latest there!
