Hello! and a bit about me...

I forgot to link my homeschool blog! Here: The Milk and Honey Tea House


This weblog is created to share my thoughts, ideas, and happenings of my life as a homesteader.

Here is a little bit about me:

Hi. My name is Rachel. I'm thirteen years old. I live in South Whitley Indiana on a farm 3.5 miles from the nearest town. I have seven other brothers and sisters of which I will share about in a later entry. My youngest is a little over a month old, April 7th 2007 is her birthday.

I enjoy writing, reading books, gardening, working in the barn, poetry, baking, cooking, taking pictures, and lots of other things.

We currently have these animals: Two horses, Dulcy and Estrella, seven goats: two does, Chloe and Heidi, and five kids. Two of which are males: Cowboy and Elessar and the three female: Belladonna, Eamena, and Keci. We also have two dogs/puppies. A male and female: Pemberly, the boy, and Blondie the girl. Pemberly is a blue heeler/lab mix. He is brown with white under his belly, and he has four mittens. Blondie is a retriever/lab mix. She is yellow/blond. We are also going to be getting chicks/chickens very soon.

We are milking our does twice a day and getting lots of milk from them. They are all getting very big and we now have to separate the bucks from the doelings. We are trying to build a buck pen for them.

I want to have rabbits by the end of this year. But we have to have everything else done before that happens!

I like your new blog!! We'll be getting our chickens very soon, too. This year we're raising them for meat rather than fancy. :-) We won't get any eggs, but at least we'll get the satisfaction of EATING them when we're done!!!
