Meet The Blogger:

Hello there! Thanks for stopping by. I am pleased to have you here at Rachel's Reasoning. This is a place where I post my homesteading adventures in our family of 10. We garden, raise goats, chickens and dogs. I am hoping for some ducks and turkeys in the spring, but not sure if I am going to get them. Check my other sidebar for a list of our homestead animals.

Pizza Dough Or Bread Stick Recipe

Posted in My Recipe Box!

This is a recipe I got off of the Art of Bread Making DVD we received from the West ladies of Homestead Blessings. These bread sticks are so soft and fluffy, they are a bread-stick lovers dream! These are great for dipping in spaghetti sauce, garlic and olive oil sauce or just eating plainly. Anyways, the ones I made turned out GREAT!

Soft Bread Sticks
2 1/2 cups of flour
1 tbsp yeast
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp honey
1 cup warm water
4 tbsp olive oil

Mix the dry ingredients first, then add rest of ingredients. Mix them at a nice pace, then knead with hands til soft. Let rest for 10min, knead again for about 5min. Preheat oven to 400*.
Flour your hands lightly, then take a small ball of dough and roll it between your hands til you get a "stick" of dough. Keep doing that with all your dough. Let rest for about 5min.
Lay the made bread sticks on your stoneware. Melt some butter, olive oil, and fresh garlic in pan. Don't boil, just melt. Then brush on top of breadsticks. Salt them and bake them for 15min.

You will end up with some lovely breadsticks when you are finished with this recipe... makes me wanna go make some right now! Haha. I also made three SO GOOD pizzas with the dough the other night for dinner. They were lovely. Hope you all enjoy them.
Love,
  Rachel

Hey, Rachel! Thanks for stopping by my blog. :) I really enjoyed your long, lovely comment!

Actually . . . Samuel is . . . two. We get asked a whole bunch if he's 3 or 4! He's very tall for his age while his brother is very small. *(Edited to add, he is getting close to 3yo . . . in March, actually.)

He loves to use the phrase "Oh my word!" just like I say it, it's so cute!

Ouch . . . I hurt for Amanda's toe. It's interesting what becomes dangerous, huh?

Have a great Tuesday!

Ashley

Rachel,

And I wanted to apologize to you for not coming to pull a recipe post for THC! I wasn't feeling well and had wanted to add a few more posts, a bit of clip art (since I have no clue how to make icons), and I had thought about linking to Homeschool Memoirs, as I'd read yours and Amanda's and noticed how they fit! I still had an e-mail from your mom with recipes, so I used those, but just had to go to bed. BTW, BlogCarnival quits sending submissions to the host at 9PM; that must be the time Jocelyn set it up for. There was probably a way I could have checked, but I wouldn't know where - LOL!

Thanks and Blessings,
Danielle
