Hidden In My Heart...

The Lord's Prayer -

Matthew 6:7-13
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

The Simple Woman’s Daybook - Page 8

For Today…September 15th, 2008

Outside my Window…The sky is a light blue, with clouds in it. Since everything has been happening with the hurricanes, we have been having a lot of downcast days here… I want some sunshine! :(

I am thinking…that I need to get my Growing In Grace Articles done… waiting for the assigned ones.

From the learning rooms… sketching - ever since the Blue-Eggs visited, and Miss Breezy drew those wonderful sketches of the Littles, I have been trying my hand at it. And, of course, I am reading lots of good books! (GGM counts as school too you know - writing!)

I am thankful for…My Dear Family - Momma, Daddy, Amanda, Jocelyn, Eric, Hannah, Isaac, Caleb and LucyLillie. They are so wonderful to me! Love you ALL!!!

From the kitchen…I am hoping to be making something today, maybe some oatmeal/trailmix bars with cranberries, raisins, chocolate chips, and if I can find some nuts. Or maybe just a good chocolate cake. I would make some cupcakes, but I don’t have any paper cups. I will be getting some tho. Got any good recipes you want to share?

I am wearing…an orange t-shirt, a green, different-coloured-different-patterned skirt, my hair is as a horses’ tail (needed something new to say rather than, “my hair is in a ponytail.”), barefoot… going to need socks soon, with the weather getting colder.

I am reading…the Bible - I read Exodus 14-16 today for my Bible Reading Challenge. I love the story of when God parted the Red Sea for the children of Israel. And gave them manna in the wilderness. I am also (still) reading Journeys of Faithfulness by Sarah Clarkson, and I am also reading a book by a blogger - SuzyScribbles - called Andi Carter and the Dangerous Descision. I very much enjoyed the first book (that one is the second). I am reviewing them for GGM in November.

I am hoping…that everyone will be ok who are suffering from Hurricane Ike, and that WIlber (our baby goat) will get better soon. He can’t walk straight, and falls down a lot. He is in a box behind me, sleeping, so shhhhh…. I feel so sorry for that little guy. :( Pray for him.

I am creating…My QUILT! Finally getting everything for it together. It has taken me over three years to do that! I am just finishing cutting the last of the squares, then it’s zoom on the sewing machine! I will take a picture when it’s done so you all can see it. Want to guess what colours it is?

I am hearing…the sounds of feet on the stairs, and the clacking of the keys on which I am typing. Everything else is pretty quiet.

Around the house…As I said above, pretty quiet, no one is really up.

One of my favorite things…is to sit out in our smaller maple tree and look up at the wondrous sky, clouds floating by, the tree swaying beneath me. I get excited when I climb the tree!

I am praying forDrews Family TX and those suffering from hurricane Ike.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week…finish up my GGM article for October, get my quilt on my bed, make a list of the goodies I am going to make for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Anyone have any recipes they want to share? I am on the lookout!

I accomplished since last week…Um, well… got the house cleaned up a bit, and we have been eating earlier. But that doesn’t seem to help us going to bed any earlier, and with Wilber, Jocelyn and Amanda have been sleeping downstairs.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

This is one of the yellow lilies that bloomed this year. Isn’t it just beautiful?

Being Simple Still,

I hope you have enjoyed reading the thoughts of a fourteen-year-old girl from the country."You can do all things through CHRIST who strengthens you!" Philippians 4:13
