My Simple Woman's Daybook for today!
For today… Monday, August 18th, 2008.
Outside My Window… I can see the back field... that is now all mowed down and the wildflowers are GONE. :(
I am thinking… about how I only have two more articles to write for Growing In Grace Magazine for the September Issue... I got two done in two days! A World Record! lol
I am thankful… the beautiful blue sky outside that is such a pretty blue.
From the kitchen… I'm making a potato, carrot, bacon, and green bean soup with onions and spices! Can't wait to eat some. :) Anybody else want any? There's plenty!
I am wearing... Blue teddy bear-cloud pj pants, yellow shirt with flowerpots on it, bear feet, and my hair is up in a ponytail.
I am creating… A little book for my Bible Study Notes. It's a really cute thing. Jocelyn found it online. She will be giving a little cute journal she made on her blog here pretty soon, so keep checking it out.
I am going… go eat some delicious soup after I am finished with this post. :)
I am reading… The Old Country by Sholom Aleichem. It's the book that the great musical The Fiddler On The Roof was based off of. Pretty neat stories. Check it out! And I will also be reading Enoch Roden's Training for the HSB Literary Club.
I am hoping… to work on my story some more today. By the way, thank you for all your suggestions... I'm still lost at picking a name! Got any more?
I am hearing… the rattle of spoons while the soup is being given out, and Caleb (2yo) looking at a book behind me.
Around the house… Everyone is getting ready to eat. Luli isn't feeling very good today. Isaac didn't fell very good last night either. Please pray for them.
One of my favorite things… is to bake something sweet, like cookies, or brownies, or a cake. I love trying something new in the kitchen. Does anyone have any recipes I can try?
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Well, I'll write what I plan to do for today - make some stationary, clean up the house, make something sweet, maybe some chocolate chip cookies, write more of my book, (I should say books!), and check on the baby goats.
Here is picture thought I am sharing…
This is Mr. Bennet, Jocelyn's Rhode Island Red rooster. He is one of the nicer roosters, and is very big! But he is the 'head of the henhouse'.

Hi!
So sorry I haven't got back to you sooner! I've just been so busy (and sick!) So how are you doing? I really enjoy reading your blogs, I can really relate to a lot of the things that happen in your life! Big family, farm, home school etc.... But you got to love it! I know I sure do! Oh yeah thanks for letting me know, I'll just comment in the future.
Yes, about the post, It is really weird that a lot of those things that we eat can be used for those purposes. A friend gave it to me, I'm not sure where she got it.
Yes, I'm 12 (well almost 13!). And your 14? Yes, we have chickens and one roster. We enjoy them (and the eggs!) I love the name Mr. Bennett for your roster! How fun! I think it fits him. <SMILE> We have 12 goats, 5 milking does, 2 bucks, 4 doelings, one wether & an old Nubian doe named Samantha that we LOVE! We so enjoy the goats, there just like dogs!
Yes, I know all about untrained horses! ;-) We've had a few of them! We have two quarter horses, one mare and one gelding. We ride the mare but have given up on the gelding. (after my brother got bucked off of him and ran into a tree.) So as you can tell we have a exciting life!
Sounds like you guys have a fun place too! Yes, we live in OK. We live on 10 acres in a small but growing town called Blanchard. Its a nice little place, we enjoy it. Really, where were you guys when you were in OK? We are near Oklahoma City and Norman. Yeah we sell the milk, soap, lotion and I'm starting too make lip balm! Its really fun once you get the hang of it! Tell Jocelyn that I've failed many times with my soap! But you got to keep trying! I'll have to post a picture of the soap some time!
Nosy? No, I like to get lots of info to! And its always fun to get to know one of your friends on the blog!
Thanks for stopping by!
Many Blessings!
Emily

Hey Rachel!
Thanks for commenting so soon! Were all doing well, busy but good! I'm making a LOT of soap now because we have a couple craft fairs coming up. Plus we sell at a Farmers' Market every Saturday.
I wound be glad to mail you some lip balm and a couple bars of soap! Really I would! I would like to know what you all think about them! Really! You know I could even send some recipes with them. Email me your address (If its OK with your mom & dad!) and I will get them to you as soon as I can. :-)
My birthday is November 18 th. That's fun our B-days are in the same month! Yes, isn't it weird that the herd can almost double the size when babies come! I've been there and done that! :-O But babies are so fun. And yes, it seams that you always get boys. O well, there cute anyway.
Yes, LOVE horses! There so beautiful and majestic. Ahhh... Now I want to ride mine! LOL
Yep, Blanchard's a small town! And no, I love long
