First Week of School
We have made it through the first week of the "new" school year.  Actually we took about 3 weeks off of schoolwork after we came home from Seattle.   I had planned to get right back into the schooling when we returned, but I had to get a birthday party put together for the following weekend and I just decided to wait until the day after Labor Day.

So our school started on Tuesday, and I wound up sleeping in until 8:00, unintentionally.   When I got up and came into the livingroom, Kylin met me in the dining room and said, "Well Hello there!"  Heather had already taken care of their breakfast (cereal) and they had their books on the table, ready to go.   Wednesday worked pretty well too. However Thursday came and Kylin was no longer in the mood for school.  He did the work, but not without some comments and protests.

Everyone is looking forward to the weekend for a break.  But we made it and so far, so good.

Some of Kylin's observations today:
1. Earlier we were leaving to take a walk, and Kylin noticed our elderly neighbor out taking a walk with his walker.  He pointed to the guy and said rather loudly, "There's that old man walking really slow!  He needs to be in the slow lane."

2. Later this afternoon, we were watching a show where the narrator mentioned "Ethiopian cooking".  Kylin looked at me and asked, "Mom, what is OBEDIENCE cooking?"
