This is the second book in the Grandmother's Hope Chest series by Rebekah Wilson. Lucie's Snowflakes is another wonderful creation from Hope Chest Legacy! These stories are so sweet, and center around a little girl named Lucie and her Grandmother.

In this story, Lucie is sick in bed when Grandmother arrives with a special treat for Lucie! Grandmother brings Lucie a wooden tray, filled with a basket covered in fabric hiding pumpkin muffins and teacups for cinnamon apple spice tea! Lucie inquires with Grandmother about the pretty bread cloth covering the basket, and Grandmother shares with Lucie the story behind this bread cloth. When Lucie asks Grandmother to teach her to sew such a pretty bread cloth, an otherwise long and boring day, sick in bed turns into a wonderful time with Grandmother!

Grandmother teaches Lucie to sew the pretty gingham embroidery snowflake stitch and the hem stitch to create a bread cloth of her own! Lucie and Grandmother talk, share their faith, sip tea, and nibble muffins while Grandmother reads Lucie's favorite story, "Heidi" and Lucie sews her bread cloth. While Lucie expands her hand sewing skills, she and Grandmother are making priceless memories together.

Rebekah Wilson has created another beautiful hardcover book for the Grandmother's Hope Chest Series! The illustrations are done by Priscilla Ector, a homeschooled student, who is obviously an extremely gifted artist! This book is over 75 pages, and the story includes very simple instructions for creating your own bread cloth, along with detailed photos. These books and craft kits not only teach hand sewing skills that will be used for a lifetime, the stories and memories of the time we share with our daughters while creating the projects together, will also last a lifetime. The craft kits that Rebekah has put together contain everything to make your bread cloth, but the scissors~even the cinnamon apple spice tea too!

Rebekah's series, Grandmother's Hope Chest, are classic, timeless, and I will be placing them in my daughter's hope chests, for them to share with their children one day. My highest recommendation, absolutely wonderful!

Take a look at Hope Chest Legacy's, they have so many wonderful offerings, and tell them The Old Schoolhouse sent you!
