This was a fascinating e-book with full-color photos and a great story! I found myself involved in the daily life of this little family and their chickens. It was not only entertaining but instructional as well. The photography was beautiful and the formatting well done. For $5.00 it is a bargain; I'd buy the book bound if I saw it on a bookshelf. This could certainly be used in a unit study for elementary students. And because the pictures are so well done, I think it would even hold the attention of little ones unable to read. I was, however, bothered by the repetitive phrasing toward the last half of the story. The phrase, "the good Lord" is one I personally love, but it is irksome to the reader when any piece of writing contains that kind of repetition. I would find other ways of saying the same thing. Other than that, I would highly recommend this e-book to homeschooling or homesteading families, to anyone who wants to learn how to start raising chickens, or to anyone who would just like to read about doing it!
