It is very easy to take water for granted - until it smells like rotten eggs and has a funny color.
When we moved from the foothills of California onto a small hobby farm in Tennessee, 'water' was not on a list of concerns for me. When we bought our home, I thought 'well water' sounded superb. We had well water in California and it was great. But after we moved into our new home, my family was in for a shock. The water seemed undrinkable. We started doing anything and everything we could think of. We bleached the well, we bought filters, we tried using one of those 'filter pitchers' (which did help a little), but nothing really worked for our family. Finally I started doing some research for a Water Filter System. The over abundance of information was a bit intimidating. So I got a hold of my friend Marilyn Moll over at the Urban Homemaker and asked for her help. She set me up with the Multi-Pure Drinking Water System. My husband Geoff had no trouble setting it up under the kitchen sink and hooking up the 'filter' faucet that now shares space next to the original kitchen faucet. I had some fears that this faucet would not do the trick, as a matter of fact, when I first got the faucet I had not agreed to do a review on it. I did not want to review a product that I did not like. We've been using this faucet for over three months and it has been a God-send. My entire family is now able to drink our well water happily. We use it to drink, and to cook with. Our water problem has been solved. The faucet is easy to use: it flips on simply and has a ready supply of fresh clean drinking water on tap. I am very happy with this water system and I recommend it highly for anybody in search of a water filtration system. Here is some more detailed information about this particular filter that Marilyn Moll, from the Urban Homemaker sent me:
Why is the Multi-Pure Drinking Water System the Consumer's Best Value? We all know that our health and our very survival is dependent on water. Our bodies, nearly 2/3 of which are composed of water, require PURE water to keep our muscles and skin toned, eliminate toxins and wastes, regulate body temperature, and more. Stories abound in the news about contaminants of health concern that have been found in everyday tap water that interfere with these bodily processes. Concerned moms and dads, need a reliable method of selecting a drinking water device from the many on the market. NSF,International is a third party, independent organization that tests, substantiates, and certifies that the types and amounts of contaminants a manufacturer claims their drinking water system can remove are reliable and can be documented. It is the ONLY reliable means of gauging a system's effectiveness. Don't be fooled by systems that use meaningless jargon such as "tested to NSF standards". An NSF certified system is your only assurance that the system you invest in is making legitimate claims. Multi-Pure Drinking Water Systems are not only certified by NSF but the Multipure filter was also the FIRST in the industry to be certified in the removal of lead, asbestos, chloramines, Toxaphene, PCB's, MTBE, cysts such as cryptosporidium, and other harmful contaminants found in water. Consumer's Digest recently recognized Multi-Pure as
a BEST BUY because it is the only product with the confidence in its products to warrant the stainless steel housing for 25 years, as well as offering NSF certified replacement filters for superior performance at the lowest yearly cost of any solid carbon filter system on the market. With over 35 years of experience as a leader in the filtered drinking water industry, you can invest with confidence, as I have, in Multi-Pure products.
