Do you ever, "Random Blog"??? Well I do sometimes, that way I sometimes find some very interesting or wonderful blog's that I might not have ever seen !! Well I did that again, tonight and came accross this really good one... she talked about quite a few things that hit home !! But one thing that she talked about was trying to lose weight this year...I am all for that !!! Since she was good and brave enough to be honest then so will I !!!!
I am 5' 2" and weigh 185 lbs. {I know like a butterball !! Except I'm more of the pear shape !!} Not my all time high, though...In 2003, I weighed in at 200lbs., I was so disgusted with myself and so very miserable and depressed. Then I started changing my eating habits, I got all of Suzanne Sommers cook books from the library and copied all her recipes down. I really loved the food, my family on the other hand was not real crazy about it, but I continued to cook that way. Mostly for me and a little for my family, anyways, the changing of my eating and then getting on my treadmill and walking/running a mile on it anywhere from 4 to 6 days a week, I eventually, {about 8 or 9 months later} lost 65 lbs. WOW !!
I looked and felt great, BUT THEN..... I got pregnant with my latest child and whewww, put almost all of it back on !! When I had her I think I was about 165 lbs., but quit my good eating habits and my exercising and here I am....185 lbs. Miserable and disgusted with myself again.
So now back to Miss Robin's Blogger, I want to lose the weight with her, {by my birthday in July !! That gives me 6 months to lose 60 lbs. Boy do I have my work cut out for me !!!} And I challenge anyone else who wants to lose weight, to come along and join us !!! Let's keep each other posted on our success and our failures, let's encourage and cheer each other on !!! Good Luck to us ALL !!!
my daughter is getting married on Feb 4th I was going to lose weight before then, but have not - my high school 30 year reunion is this summer - I just can't seem to get motivated!! - I will be following you along - share you recipes and "secrets"
I had to make a correction to one of the ingredients in my bread recipe. Can't believe I typed the typo! *Yikes!* I left out the salt and typed flour. lol Silly me.
Friday will be day #5 of healthy living for me. I am extremely motivated and am excited about doing well. I am not going to beat myself up if I don't lose "X" amount each month. Rather, concentrate on becoming healthy. And, the weight will come off in God's timing. :)
I look forward to encouraging one another! WE CAN DO IT!!
I wish you success my dear! It's never easy to change habits. The trick is not to have "empty spaces" where the old habits used to be...replace them with new, good habits. I actually do my treadmill thingy for 45-60 minutes most mornings instead of the computer. (I just do that later, hehehe) I can only do it for that long because I have a TV in front of it. Which is weird because we don't watch tv really, it's there for the BJU satellite, but we have another sat. so hubby can watch football. That means there's a ton of channels. Scary ones! My children are never allowed to turn it w/o me being there to get it on Little House on the Prairie for them! UGh. I watch FoodNetwork or old Lucy reruns, etc. I find I don't get tired at all in front of the tv. Weird, huh? At least it works! I hate to work out! This is a first for me.
Also- no sugar or white flour. No soda pop, no fast food, nothing out of a box or can. Period.
It's hard at first. Your taste buds change though, and pretty soon you won't want your old food and it'll even make you sick.
Keep us updated.
