Watching parents age

It doesn't seem fair, does it? They aren't supposed to do that to us.  After all, they're supposed to always be around to help us through life's mysteries, no matter how old WE get.  It's a physical blow to realize that time hasn't stood still while we've been busy w/farming, childbearing, homeschooling, childforming, wifing.  To take from the vernacular, it sucks eggs.  What makes it worse is when we aren't physically close to them, and can't be around to help.  It makes one wonder if that isn't part of old red legs' plan to undermine the family. Guess that's when we have to lean on God, our Heavenly Father, to take over when our earthly parents can't do it any more. Through prayer we can turn around and help them.

I am thankful that my parents live 12 houses away. I have been on my own for almost 23 years and have never lived more than a mile away from the.
But what gets me is we a now grandparents. My grandparents were the grandparents, parents were parents we were the kids. It hard to see us move up the ladder in generations. Because as we do the older generation go home with the Lord and we miss them. God Bless, mj

It doesn't seem fair. I've said the same for years. As my mom now has a hard time moving because of hip injuries and my dad has heart problems. They are both in their early 70s, but I never thought of them as old. Dad can't lift anymore because of elbow replacement. He is no longer the one to call when I need help, our roles are reversed and he now calls us. I am so grateful that we can help them, they have done so much for us, but at the same time it saddens me. More so, because they don't know Jesus. I love them so.
