Spring Has Sprung & Our first post

The rhubarb has started coming up.We've started some of our seeds

indoors and the boys haves started some at Jr. Master Gardeners Club.

Two new garden patches have been tilled, one for cold crops, the other

along side the rhubarb for a strawberry patch. The 4 apple trees we

planted have made it through their first winter the leaf buds are about to

burst open along with the lilacs!

Our Chickens are enjoying the spring weather because we let them out

to free range. The flock constists of 4 Barred Rock hens and 1 rooster;

and 5 production reds. We're getting ready to make our spring order

of chicks (more on that in a later post.)

I look forward to hearing about your garden and chickens. I have what my hubby calls "chicken envy" because I am in the city and they( the city) won't let me have any.
