We're Back!

We've finally made it back online after a spyware infestation on our old outdated computor.

We now have a new computor, a better server (but not a faster speed) and more protection

software, we are set to blog once more!  I will attempt to bog 3x per week here and 3x per

week on homeschool blogger. I look forward to catching up on what everyone else has been

up to on their homesteads in the past year!

The Flea Markets Back!

Our local Flea Market Opens in the spring and runs through

the fall. As with most flea markets is has the usual offerings

similar to a garage sale; our also offers produce, plants and

often small farm animals i.e. chickens, rabbits, kittens.

It is every Wednesday & opens shortly after sun up til about noon.

I often pick up produce that hasn't come in yet that is brought

in from the southern part of our state and neighboring states.

Next week I'll be there for sure! With my canning and freezing

equipment ready to go for all the goodies that I'll bring home!

Spring Has Sprung & Our first post

The rhubarb has started coming up.We've started some of our seeds

indoors and the boys haves started some at Jr. Master Gardeners Club.

Two new garden patches have been tilled, one for cold crops, the other

along side the rhubarb for a strawberry patch. The 4 apple trees we

planted have made it through their first winter the leaf buds are about to

burst open along with the lilacs!

Our Chickens are enjoying the spring weather because we let them out

to free range. The flock constists of 4 Barred Rock hens and 1 rooster;

and 5 production reds. We're getting ready to make our spring order

of chicks (more on that in a later post.)
