Strawberries, Strawberries, Strawberries

For 3 weeks out of the month of June, we saw strawberries in our dreams and everytime we closed out eyes. We have a strawberry patch 45 x 13 feet. It produced better this year than it ever has.

We made 50 pints of strawberry jam and froze 14 pounds of strawberries whole. The kids were SO tired of picking. I kept telling them they would be glad this winter but they were very skeptical.

Now the black raspberries are coming on but we don’t have nearly so many of them. We made two raspberry custard pies and one old fashioned black raspberry pie. They are ready to pick again so I suppose that is what will start our July 4^th morning.
