A new look........I'm so proud!
Rejoice with me for I have taken on "The Template" and have emerged victorious!!!
Anyone who has ever gone through the process of remaking their template (and I know there are LOTS of you!), knows that if you start out knowing absolutely nothing about how to do it, the feeling of exhileration when you finally accomplish the task is nearly overwhelming.
Let me introduce you to my new look:
*The first picture on the left is our lane......the "lane" of Mountain Lane Homesteaders. This is actually an easement through our property for the lady who lives behind us so both sides of it belong to us.
*The top picture of the truck with long poles sticking out is our Ford F150 that we bought in order to be able to do what we would need to for hauling and building. At first glance it looks red but it really is more pinkish. The truck is called "Big Pink" or just "Pink" for short. The poles are some that we cut and hauled off of Baldy Mountain. We are currently using them as rafters in our cabin.
*Of course the picture of the cabin in the snow is one we took this past January after all of the main work had been done. We are so pleased with how it turned out.
*The picture of the tree on the right is a wonderful little ponderosa pine tree on the property. It's not one of the most spectacular trees we have but I just love it's character.
It has been quite an experience getting this all ready so I'm not planning to change it again anytime soon. Well.........maybe some graphics or something! Anyway, I hope you like it........there's just no place like home.

wow - I am so full of admiration for you. I don't think I could build my homestead from the ground up. and I know my husband would not go for that.
I love your new look

Okay, now you'll have to share how you did that to the header. How did you get a little box for your title, with the pictures not attached somehow? I could not figure that out. I love seeing your homestead. You did good, girl!

Great Job!!! The picture of your cabin is so cute it looks like a painting in a book. Looks so peaceful!
God Bless,
Tammy
Cool!
I've enjoyed reading about your Montana journey. It's such a beautiful state. We were through there last fall to go to Yellowstone. Good memories!
That cherry-pitting trick looks like it could be very handy for the tiny prairie cherries we get up here. I'm going to have to try it next time I get my paws on local fruit.

Darcy, did you try just erasing the title from your blog (the very small type)? I did not notice until you pointed it out - but you can just leave the title blank after the title coding.... you already have the title in your brand-new banner. Thanks for your comment today, too - we are trying to stay positive about the house (I'm not always good at that) - we DO have two people looking on Monday, so the realtor is doing his job.

About Me
My husband and I along with our 3 children, moved from Iowa to Montana 3 years ago fulfilling a long time dream of living in the mountains. Last summer we purchased and moved onto our bare land and are currently living in our home made cabin which has evolved from a shed to a barn to our cabin and future guest house. The foundation for what we now call "The big house" is dug and waiting for our next burst of energy!
