First post at OklahomaJamie's Place in the Country
Well, this is the first post at my new blog, Homestead in the Making!
My name is Jamie. I live on 3 rural acres with my husband and son. We just purchased our acreage in October of 2006.
We started with a bare piece of property. Our progress so far is:
- Runners poured for house
- House moved onto property
- Septic system installed
- Water tap purchased
- Water lines ran
- Everything else you have to do to get moved in (i.e. electric, etc.)
- We've got the acreage fenced with barbwire fencing
- The driveway is graveled
- Layed a little sod
- Planted 11 trees (8 survived)
- Carport put up
- Garden planted (rained so much last summer, it didn't do well)
- Painted the house (we have a double wide mobile home)
- Fence posts put in and goat fencing purchased
- The husband's barn is almost completed
We've still got quite alot to do to make this place home, but we've got alot of years to make it that way. Join us along the way by visiting here often!
