Depression has hit in my kitchen

Posted on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 08:36 in Kitchen Talk

My dishwasher finally bit the dust yesterday.  She's over 13 years old and has lived a productive life.  She has helped me tremendously in my job as a housewife.  Over the past few months, she has been making some funny noises.  The noises have gotten louder and more annoying.  She just hasn't done a good job of washing the dishes in months (I have to practically handwash them all before loading).  I did one last load of dishes yesterday morning.  The moaning sounds of my dishwasher were horrible.  Later in the day I loaded her up again, turned the knob to start, and all she wants to do is fill up with water.

Now, she's an oversized dish drying rack.  Depression has hit my house - I now have to hand wash the dishes.  But hey, I'll survive, at least I don't have to haul in water from the creek and heat it over the wood burning stove.

Country Blessings,
Jamie

My dishwasher bit the dust a few months ago and the repair department wanted 500 dollars for the part to fix it. So, needless to say, my family and I now wash dishes by hand. At least it is an excuse to buy more cute dishclothes and towels.

I have had a dishwasher once. But I actually hated it because the dishes never looked clean. I guess I do it the old fashioned way and have 4 kids who take turns, But I feel for you!
