Living the Simple Life

Monday afternoon

It has been a long couple of days; everyone has times like that and I am no exception!  I had an allergic reaction to something a farmer out here was spraying’ we are not really sure exactly what it was but it was bad. I went out side on Sunday morning to do the milking and on the way back inside with the milk I got to feeling flushed and itchy; I didn’t pay to much attention I just brought the milk inside and grabbed the egg basket to go out and collect the eggs and turn the chickens out for the morning. By the time I had gotten the chickens fed and turned out I was constantly scratching my face, neck and ears. Then when I got back into the house I looked in the mirror and I was as red as a lobster. I got into a cool shower and started to scrub but by then it was too late; by the time I had gotten out of the shower and dressed I was wheezing and it was getting had to breath. Luckily I had an epi pen since I am allergic to bees and used it and it held me over for the most part till we got to the emergency room; so our Sunday was mostly spent in the ER, then on to the pharmacy for some meds and more epi pens. I am feeling a bit better today and some of the swelling has gone down, but I’m still really red.

The weather here to day in the Midwest is beautiful I have been washing my spring comforters and sheets and hanging them out all day. I even got a few more rows planted in the garden, and it’s a good thing since rain is on the way for tomorrow. My husband helped me get my small pond out by the back deck cleaned out yesterday and we go the pump going, I even already have some frogs in it, they sure didn’t waste any time moving in!

 Have a wonderful afternoon!
