I did a lot of cutting of fabric yesterday; I am working on a crib quilt for our grand child that will be born in September.I finished cutting out the squares all 140 of them and I thank the inventor of the rotary cutter, my hands could not have taken that much cutting in one day. I do so enjoy getting to make all of the baby things I have been working on. I think it is more fun getting ready for our grandchild than it was our own, or maybe it is just that I can relax and enjoy the time to prepare now without a to do list a mile long.
I got a lot of the garden seeds in the ground yesterday too, and just in time as the rain started to fall here in the last night. When I was younger I detested rainy days but now I enjoy them, it gives a person time to slow down, rest and listen to the rain gently falling. I think we all need to take some time once in awhile to slow down and just enjoy the everyday moments in our lives that mean so much to us, that when we are busy we tend to over look. Like the sun peaking over the tree tops in the morning, or the deer grazing out in the field across from the house, or just the fun it is to watch the goats kick up and run about in the pasture, or the way my husband tip toes around in the mornings thinking he wont wake me.Some may find this life to much hard work, to boring but to me I embrace it all, the work, the fun the hustle and bustle at times and the quiet peace of just being able to drink it all in and be thankful for all that we have.
