The Simple Woman's Day Book for September 22, 2008
The Simple Woman’s Daybook for September 22, 2008 Thank you to Peggy at http://thesimplewoman.blogspot.com/ for hosting this.
Outside My Window……. It is still dark but if you look to the east you can see a sliver or red, yellow and pink as the sun is trying to make it’s way over the horizon. The crickets are in harmony singing a song along with the frogs down at the pond. I am thinking………About the week ahead and all that I need or want to get done, sometimes it seems as if there just are not enough hours in the day to get everything accomplished; my husband told me that is a sign I try to do to much. I am thankful for…….Noah’s cold didn’t amount to much and that he is doing much better now. The harvest is almost finished up in my gardens and we have a full pantry to show for all of our hard work. From the kitchen……There is a mixed berry pie baking, raspberries, blackberries and blueberry and it smells wonderful. Later on today Summer and I will be working up a new batch of soap, goats milk, chamomile and oatmeal. I am wearing……….A pair of blue jeans and a short sleeve sweatshirt, sock on my feet as there is still a bit of a chill in the air this morning but I love fall weather! I am creating……Flannel pajamas for my nieces, nephew and Noah for Christmas, I found some of the cutest material and I knew I just had to make them new pajamas for Christmas eve out of it. I am going……. to spend most of the day outside clipping herbs and getting them tied up to hang in the barn. I am reading….. American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld, it was a bit slow at the beginning but I am getting into the story and hope to finish it up this week. I am hoping….. for a quiet week ahead, but we shall see how that works out! I am hearing……the chickens clucking about out side the widow and Bo our great Pyrenees barking at the guys across the road getting ready to start harvesting seed corn. Around the house……. Things are pretty quiet, the house work is pretty much caught up, and right now there isn’t any canning or freezing to be done, all is well. One of my favorite things is……. A warm fire and a cup of hot cocoa on a cold night A few plans for the rest of the week …… I have a batch of soap to make today and some sewing to do other than the regular critter chores and egg deliveries not much else planned this week. My husband’s birthday is on Friday so we will be having a celebration here at home for that. Here is a picture thought I am sharing……….
