For Monday July 28th , 2008

Outside my widow; The birds are splashing around taking a bath in the birdbath and the frogs down in the pond are singing.

I am thinking; That this summer has flown by and before we know it fall and winter will be here, so many things to do before cold weather sets in.

I am thankful for;  The abundance the garden has given us so far and that my pantry shelves are filling up with the food that we have provided for ourselves

From the kitchenThere is a pan of freshly baked zucchini brownies and jars of canned beets waiting to have the bands removed and taken to the storage room.

I am wearing;  A pair of cut off jean shorts and a tank top, my feet are bare (as usual) and my hair could use a quick run through with a comb.

I am reading; The Country Doctor Handbook full of old fashioned cures

I am hoping; For an easy labor of delivery of our first grandchild soon to come

I am hearing;  My husband outside the window talking to our son in law and our daughter Summer coming in the back door.

Around the house;  I need to be dusting and running the vacuum, but there will always be time tomorrow when my husband is at work, and Summer is lying down.

One of my favorite things; Is getting together with family and friends this time of year for a cookout and a cool dip in the pond, we need to do that again soon.

A few plans for the rest of the week;  The green beans and the cucumbers will be needing picked again in the next day or so; Summer and I are finishing up the last bit on a quilt for the baby and we need to get the binding on it and Friday night is the annual car show in a town near us and my husband is looking forward to that.

My picture thought I am sharing with you;

A simple flower like the hollyhock can be as pretty as the most rare orchid.
