The last field of hay has been cut, one more round of cutting the fields, baling and stacking the hay and we will be done for this year. We have been blessed with an very good year for hay and even have quite a bit extra to sell when the time comes, that will help offset some of our expenses for the critters this winter and that always looks good in our ledger.
A friend from Iowa stopped by today, she had an over abundance of berries and since bridge is open between Illinois and Iowa now, she thought is was time for a visit and brought me, strawberries, blueberries and red raspberries, they will all taste good this winter. So we returned the favor and sent them home with a pick up full of fresh hay for their goats. We have known this couple for several years and even though we are separated by several miles we are as close as friends can be without be actually related, we often joke and tell people we were separated at birth. Good friends are such a blessing.
Have a wonderful Saturday evening!

Preparedness, when properly pursued, is a way of life, not a sudden, spectacular program. -- Spencer W. Kimball, 1976
