Out with the old...

Posted on Monday, December 31, 2007 at 7:07 PM

in with the new!  It is at this time that I say, "Goodbye 2007!" and welcome in the New Year of 2008!  It's been a long year in many ways, and yet at the same time it seems to have flown by quickly.  There have been tragedies, triumphs, heartaches, sorrows, and yet, a sense of peace in my own life.  World-wide problems have also had a place in my life, but our Lord has brought me through them in spite of my own fears at times.

There will be changes coming to my life in 2008, and also changes in my online activities.  This blog will see a change, in its decor, and also in its content.  I'm not sure just yet what all of the changes here will be, but I am working on several.

I will be curtailing some of my online activities, and focusing on the few that mean the most to me.  I will continue with my Nuggets of Wisdom Newsletter (although I didn't put out an issue in Dec '07, it will resume in Jan '08), I will be continuing my online fellowshipping group for women-Kindreds, Sisters, and Friends, and I will be continuing to post on the Titus 2 Christian Homekeepers Forum.  Other forums will not remain an active part of my life, however, as I would rather have fewer with more quality, than continue spreading myself so thinly.  I will also work on building a website this year, and it will feature not only my writings, but also some of my handiwork with a needle.  I hope to be able to offer aprons and other tools for the homemaker there, and perhaps some other goodies, as well.

I hope you will enjoy the changes coming in 2008, and will have the patience to bear with me as the Lord leads.  For you see, its not in my timing, but in His that these things get done.

May you have a blessed and fruitful new year and keep Christ foremost in your heart and mind, serving Him in all ways and all areas of your life.  God Bless You!

Hugs,

Cynthia Robin

~A Special Quote~

Posted on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 7:15 AM

The best things are nearest:

breath in your nostrils,

light in your eyes,

flowers at your feel,

duties in your hand,

the path of Right just before you.

Do not grasp at the stars,

but do life's plain common work as it comes,

certain that daily duties and daily bread

are the sweetest things in life.

~Robert Louis Stevenson~

Press on...

A new life begins for us every second.

Let us go forward joyously to meet it.

We must press on,

whether we will or no,

and we shall walk better

with our eyes before us

than with them ever cast behind.

~Jerome K. Jerome~

Merry Christmas!

Posted on Sunday, December 24, 2006 at 7:15 PM

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them,
Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tiding of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you;
Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men.

~Luke 2:6-14
The Holy Bible, King James Version

I pray, that on this, one of the two most holy days of the year, that you will give God all of the praise and glory for giving us the most precious gift of all ~ the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ.

May your Christmas be filled with praise, joy, and peace!

Merry Christmas!

Happy Thanksgiving

Posted on Thursday, November 23, 2006 at 12:37 AM

As we celebrate this day set aside in the United States of America to give thanks to our Lord for His bountiful provisions and mercies, I thought I would list the Top 12 things that I am thankful for.

  • My salvation through Jesus Christ's blood redemption of me.
  • The gift of the Holy Ghost.
  • A wonderful, loving family.
  • Healthy sons and grandchildren.
  • My church family and godly pastors who aren't afraid to preach and teach the truth.
  • Loving friends - both local and online.
  • God-given talents and the doors opening to use them for His glory.
  • Good health and Jesus' healing stripes at work continually in my body.
  • The power of prayer.
  • Blessings in abundance and God's never-ending provision.
  • Restoration and reconciliation through the mercy of the Lord.
  • The joy of the Lord - it IS my strength!

It is my prayer that you have a day filled with thanksgiving and praise to the one and only Almighty God, and that you share this day with those you love, and reaching out to those who need you the most.

In God's love,

Cynthia Robin

A Great Blog to visit!

The Urban Homemaker

This is a wonderful blog I just visited via the Random Blog button (I love that button!).  I viewed the entry about a new book for training up boys with domestic skills, and I have to tell you, I urge every mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to purchase this for mothers of sons!  It's co-authored with Martha Greene, and she is a true treasure herself!  I love her website!  To view this wonderful blog entry, just click this Link:

I know you'll be blessed by her blog, as well as this wonderful book!
