My goodness, I can hardly believe it's already Thursday! This week has really flown by fast!!! All is well here in my home, just busy as usual. I've done a lot of cooking this week, and have plans for more this weekend. I'll be making up batches of biscuits and sausage patties and freezing them as sausage biscuits. These sell for a pretty penny at drive thrus and also in the grocers. I just personally think it's ridiculous to spend good, hard earned money like that. It doesn't take much to make a few dozen biscuits. The most expenditure in it is buying the sausage. But it's still much more economical than buying it all pre-made (and it's not full of preservatives and sitting in someone else's freezer for who knows how long! Plus I know the hands preparing it and the kitchen it's prepared in are clean!). I just fry up the sausage patties, bake the biscuits, let it all cool down, and then slice open the biscuits, put a sausage patty on it, and wrap it up in wax paper and then put them in gallon size ziplock bags in the freezer. Unwrap them, wrap in a paper towel, and microwave each one for 90 seconds and you have a hot, fresh sausage biscuit! These are great for those mornings when I'm in a rush for one reason or another, and also good for a quick snack. They're good for traveling, too. Just pull a bag of them out of the freezer, and by the time you're ready to fill up the tank on the road, just find a microwave to heat them up. A lot of convenience stores along the highways don't mind (if you're buying something) to let you heat your sandwiches up. And if you can't find a place to heat them, they're okay cold if necessary. Although I prefer ham biscuits if I'm going to eat them cold. I like all of my biscuits with a bit of honey on them after heating. Of course, I like honey on most things! I'd love to find someone local with a beehive to buy local honey from. I'll have to give my County Extension Agent a call and ask about it.
I'm also planning to make a few batches of pancakes and waffles this weekend and freezing them. Add to that, trying to get the windows washed, laundry done, and make it to the Home & Garden Show downtown Saturday afternoon. I try not to do anything on Sundays except church, writing, and watching my quilting shows on PBS in the afternoons, so I'll be doing all of my "home blessings" on Saturday. No wonder I never sleep late! LOL
It's been so lovely here this week...we've been experiencing all 4 seasons, it seems! We started out very cold Sunday and Monday, and it's been warming up ever since. I know it made it up to at least 74 today! Wow! It felt more like June instead of March! This is surely some crazy weather!!! But, it's been a true blessing to me. I've been able to take my daycare children out to play, and they've had so much fun! I found a new bubble machine at a clearance store last weekend for $5, and it's priceless to me! Wal Mart sits behind my home, and my friends tell me they always know when I have the children outside, as they see the bubbles over the fence! I have way too much fun with it all!
It's time for me to shut down for the night. 4 am comes very early if I'm not in bed by 10, and I'm already past that now! Ouch! Tomorrow is another day though! I try to do a lot of my home blessing on Fridays, to get a head start on Saturday. The children learn how to clean, and have fun doing it, and we just try to have an easy day on the homefront! I have a roasted chicken in the fridge thawing for lunch, and supper is going to be pot pies and salad and fruit. Easier on me than cooking a big meal on a physically heavy work day. No paper lessons tomorrow...all manual *hands on* learning here!
I hope your week has been as lovely as mine has!
Hugs,
Cynthia Robin

It was nice to read about your week. That bubble machine sounds like a lot of fun :)
PS. I'd love to try your pecan pear scones but I don't think it's possible to get Splenda here... Do you know how much sugar I should use instead?
This weblog will be a compilation of happening's here in my home. I will be including homemaking tips, recipes, and encouragement for the homemaker who realizes she is a God-ordained Keeper of her Home.
