Help save the institution of marriage as the union of a man and a woman!
The Marriage Protection Amendment will do just that, but it needs your help to get it passed. It is scheduled to be voted on in the U.S. Senate the week of June 5, 2006, and it will only pass if millions of Americans make it clear they support traditional marriage.
Write your Senator(s) and ask him/her to support S.J. Res. 1, the Marriage Protection Amendment. Elected officials are very sensitive, especially during an election year, to the popular desires of their constituencies.
Please take a few minutes and send a short note or postcard via snail mail (email will work, too!), and please pray for this!

On the postcard, please write your full name and address. Here is a sample of what to say:
Dear Senator,
Marriage has historically been the union of one man and one woman. It's benefits for children and for society are incalculable. Protecting traditional marriage is not rooted in discrimination - as some might try to convince you. It is rooted in common sense, for the common good. For marriage to flourish in our culture, it must be protected from redefinition.
Therefore, as your constituent, I respectfully request that you support S.J. Res. 1, the Marriage Protection Amendment, and that you support all procedural measures to bring the amendment to a floor vote.
