A couple are on the mend, one about the same, and one got worse overnight. I don't normally rush to the doctor, but Sean seemed to be struggling for air this morning and I took him to the urgent care clinic in town. So they're giving us our discharge papers and the nurse is giving me the run down on the meds and I finally just said, "I can sign it. With four kids I know how to do antibiotics." I'm not sure she believed me.
![]() Then she had a conversation with Sean. (Nurse) "After your mommy gives you these eye drops, you can go to school tomorrow." (Sean) "I don't go to school. I'm four!" (Nurse) "Oh, well then you'll be able to go to preschool tomorrow." (Sean) "Huh? What's that?" (Nurse) ![]() She looked at me. "I guess day care then?" I just and shrugged but Sean said "I don't go to daycare. I get to stay with my mommy ALLLLLLLL day! I'm the luckiest boy in the whole WIIIIIDE world." (and he even made the huge sweeping motion with his arms.) (Nurse) ![]() I just patted Sean on the head and told him to get his coat. S - Home. | 2 comments | | Link Saturday, February 21, 2009Perfectly Pink Princess PartyPosted in Kudzu KidsOkay, I'm going to rewind to Valentine's Day and the Princess Party that Erin and I attended. We had three wonderful hours of mother/daughter bonding time and even had lunch at Subway! Here are some pictures... Our first stop was to make a bracelet with Ariel. Erin did not want to have her picture made with Ariel. (I found out later that Ariel didn't have enough clothing on for Erin's preferences. LOL) We then headed over to Pocahontas to have face painting done. Here she is in front of the teepee. You can see the necklace she made at Ariel's station around her neck. ![]() After looking over her choices, she decided to have a butterfly painted on her face. ![]() And Pocahontas... ![]() Then we stopped and saw Tinkerbell. There were a lot of girls at her table. Can you see all the little ones in the background? It was a busy day... ![]() We walked around for a little bit before she decided that she wanted to have her fingernails painted next. This was at Jasmine's station. No picture of Jasmine either...again, not enough clothes. HA! ![]() After her nails we walked around a took a few pictures at stations that she didn't have tickets for. First, there was Belle... ![]() And then another princess. At first she wasn't sure she wanted to go near her since she didn't know who she was supposed to be. Ultimately, she decided a pink gown was good enough reason. ![]() And last she was able to "learn a Princess dance" with a real ballerina. She was very reluctant to do this at first, but finally asked if she could. I'm glad she did because I think it was her favorite part! These are probably only half of the pictures I took. We have a stuffed animal keeper hanging in their bedroom and the bottom two compartments are where the girls' babies sleep. As soon as she got up today she wanted her babies. The twin babies are hers. The other baby belongs to Erin. ![]() ![]() I LOVE this picture. I have no idea where the last 6 years have gone. It seems like just yesterday when the nurses were telling me that I wasn't really in labor and they were probably going to send me home...taking a nap for a half hour and waking up screaming...only to deliver her 2 1/2 hours later. I've been going through old pictures on the computer...trying to come up with some way to organize them. (ha!) and have found some of my favorites. In honor of her birthday, I thought I'd share. October 22, 2002 - In the hospital, just a few hours old. ![]() Just a week old. Christopher would come in every morning and peek into her bassinet to make sure she was still there. ![]() ![]() 2 months old at Christmas. My mom had a stuffed santa thing hanging from the ceiling and Erin thought it was hysterical. ![]() Around 7 or 8 months old. This picture kills me. LOOK AT THOSE THIGHS! I love it! ![]() And one with mommy! ![]() ![]() 2 years old. She loved this jumper. ![]() Let's GOooooooooooooooo Mountaineers!! ![]() Her 3rd birthday. I think he's probably pretty normal for a 4 year old. He just doesn't seem so grown up to me as the other two did at that age. Anyway, we're finally having success potty training. All week, he's been in underwear except at nap and bedtime. There have been a few accidents, but he's getting there. With the other kids, we did M&Ms with a lot of success. Sean, not so much. We finally found the secret. Dog biscuits. I know. You're all going and My mom used to have a little Yorkie that got a treat every time she went outside to do her business. Sean apparently remembers. So, our current routine is, he goes potty and comes running out and stands at the kitchen and waits. Someone (usually one of the kids because I'm laughing too hard) says "SIT!" and he plops to the floor. Then they chime "SPEAK!" and he barks. Then he receives his treat for going potty. I know. I know. It's horrible. I've tried to get him to stop. He's devastated if we don't do it. And..it's getting him to go potty...so I don't really want to NOT do it. It won't last forever. He'll be potty trained and forget all about it like the others forgot about the M&Ms. But I just know...at some point... We're going to be in public... And he's going to try and insist on "sitting & speaking" for his treat when he goes potty. | 6 comments | | Link Wednesday, July 23, 2008 |
