I rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you have renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you have been concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. Sadness creeps within these walls
Threatening to take us all.
Fight against fight with all our will
And yet sadness remains here still.

Anxiety invades our hearts
Causing strife and restlessness.
Apprehensive of what we’ve learned
More concerned with what’s to come.

Joyfulness abounds in us
Merriment of sweet peacefulness.
Filled with bliss as life goes on
Happiness for tomorrow’s dawn.

Fearful of the truth of it
Determined to comprehend.
Wanting more than nothing less
Receiving less than all of this.

Life is life and nothing changes
Alter life and truth is lost.
Stop the madness, stop the pain
Demand a final place to rest.

This is such a beautiful and heart-wrenching entry. Thank you for sharing about your sweet son and your mother-in-law. I think each milestone date brings pain and healing at the same time, not sure how that works but glad it does.
