Summer is in full swing and finally the tomato plants look as though they are going to make it....rough going at first. I can't wait to get that first tomato of the season (yipee) Pumpkins are in. I didn't get any orange pumpkins this year but the Queenland Blues and the Lumina pumpkins all came up. Onions are in, but for how long is anyones guess..... I have horses on all three sides of the garden and they love to eat all the plants by the fence. The other day I walked out and they were munching the onions. Peas are done for right now, although, I may try a crop later in the year and see if they will work. I have a neighbor who swears by it. She says that she has fresh peas in the Spring and the Fall. Cherries are ready and the currants are almost there...... it's such a busy time but the best time of the year as far as I'm concerned.
Hubby arrived home yesterday from a month in the Pacific Northwest. Not sure how long he'll be home but while he is here I am planning on getting all my winter wood, starting next weekend. I keep thinking that it would be nice to have a furnace for a back-up but then I think of the bill it would cost me to run one and quickly shut down that idea.
The grandkids will be back from their other Grandparents house as of tomorrow, so things will start getting back to normal. I'm sooooo lost without my little helpers in the garden. It's off to work tomorrow for me and back to all the Dr. appointments. Thank goodness their father will be able to make it to the appointments with me. Tuesday we have an appointment with Neurology and the Endrocrin and then later in the week the Cardio Dr. I am hoping that everything checks out and that the youngest isn't going to need another heart surgery until at least next Sring. (although, it would be great to get the feeding tube out of him and sooner than that) Wishful thinking ....but where are we without our dreams?

This just has to be my favorite time of year. I love getting up watching the sunrise, playing in the garden and nibbling on all thats growing. I get lost, the time just flies by and before I know it, it's time to clean up and fall into bed. I am hoping to get the rest of the flowers & veggies from the greenhouse out and planted. The growing season is so short here. Well, it's off to the great wide open to see what I can accomplish today! New to blogging
