It was chilly and wet outside today, so I couldn't hang my laundry outside.
I washed my sheets and made the bed, washed towels and a load of clothes (which are waiting patiently to be folded and put away...), cleaned both bathrooms, vacuumed our bathroom and our bedroom, dusted a little bit, and hung out with my kids. I also vacuumed out my closet. Before you think I'm crazy,
I found mouse poop in there, and it had to go!! Poor Emily has a big black eye. My mom said that Cameron was swinging his plastic garden hoe around, trying to pop bubbles with it, and he hit her right on the eye. She also has a slight fever this evening. She had one last night, too, but it's not as bad today, and her nose stopped running. My grandmother called and asked why I didn't take her to the doctor today, and I told her the doctor's office isn't open on Saturdays. Plus they won't really do anything anyway. I've been giving her Children's Advil, which is what they would tell me to do. She asked why I didn't take her to the emergency room, and I said, "Because it's not an emergency."
I was training a new girl yesterday, and she was even worse than the last one. She couldn't count change either!!
A lady's order was $11.84, and she accidentally cashed out the drawer before he lady gave her the money (which she did a LOT), so I said, "Do the change first, and then figure out the dollars." She stood there and looked at me, so I said, "How much change do you need to give her to make $12?" She still couldn't figure it out. After about 5 minutes, I said, "Just give her $8.16 back!!"
I felt bad, but by the end of the evening, I started really snapping at her. I only have so much patience. I asked her to push the MD button, and she kept pushing the RF button. And she couldn't spell YELLOW!
I know I need to work on my patience here, but the most patient lady there got impatient and yelled at her. My mom had called because that's when Emily first had her fever, and it seemed like every time that girl did something exceptionally dumb, that's when my mom called. So even though I didn't mean to, I snapped at her too.
Sometimes I have trouble dealing with more than 1 thing, and this time, I couldn't even deal with the 1 at work without getting stressed.
I got another rebate in the mail yesterday. This one was only $4.69, but it all adds up. It was from All Small and Mighty. I got a coupon for any free Noxema product up to $10.99, and my mom got one too!! Today I got some candy hearts, which the kids ate right away. I love freebies!
Yesterday my mother-in-law brought over a dozen eggs for us, and I had just bought some at the grocery store, so tonight for supper, I made bacon, eggs, toast and hash browns. Yummy!! Cameron ate a lot! Emily didn't do too bad either. Neither one of them cleaned their plates, but I did put quite a bit on there. Cameron ate most of his scrambled eggs, and his toast. He tried the bacon, but he didn't like it, and he ate some of his hash browns. Emily ate some of her eggs, all of her toast and some of mine, and her bacon. She might have tasted her hash browns, but I didn't see her.
I got some purple and yellow cauliflower at work yesterday for 99 cents!! I have had it before, and it tastes just like regular cauliflower, and I have a wonderful recipe for cauliflower casserole, and the 2 colors together will make a pretty casserole!!!
