Well, it has been yet another busy, busy week. On Thursday when my mom was walking Cameron to school, they saw some tire tracks on the road. Cameron pointed at them and said, "Look, Grammy! Car poop!" They had their school Christmas party that day, and he brought home some presents for us and put them under the tree.
On Saturday, I did 3 loads of laundry, printed out some recipes online, cleaned max's cage, gave the kids and Max a bath, vacuumed and cleaned both bathrooms. When Dave came home, I made hamburgers and French fries for supper and baked 3 batches of cookies and a pan of brownies.
On Christmas Eve, I worked until about 5:30, then I came home and we gathered up some gifts and went to Dave's sister's house. The kids opened gifts and we ate and talked. We came home and put out some cookies for Santa. Then we got the kids to bed and Santa put their presents under the tree. We had to give them a little medicine because they both had stuffy noses and coughs.
In the morning, Emily woke up, and she was all upset because Santa put one of the presents on top of her lip gloss. So I moved it, and she watched TV for a little while. I got a shower and got dressed, and Dave and Cameron slept for a little while. When they FINALLY got up, we opened gifts, and my mom called. Then Dave called his mom and woke her up. After he was done, I called my brother and sister-in-law. After a little while, I heard someone knock at the door, and it was our neighbors. They had brought gifts for the kids. That was so sweet, and so unexpected! We went to my mom's house to open gifts and eat dinner. I got a pressure canner!! That was the biggest thing that I wanted! I also got a jewelry box, and some necklaces! Dave got me some Bath and Body Work stuff, some books I wanted and a Wal-Mart gift card. My mom didn't want any food left at her house because they were leaving for Texas in the morning, so I got a LOT of cookies. I took the ham bone to make soup, and the turkey carcass to make broth. Dave rolled his eyes at me, but I am saving us lots of money! I laid down with Emily a little bit, when I heard someone coming in the door. I thought it was Dave's mom, so I got up, but it was Dave's dad and evil stepmother. They gave the kids each a gift, and Cameron opened his (a stuffed tiger that you can bottle feed) and said, "This is for girls!" He put it down and played with his Army men. Then Dave's mom and stepdad came over. We opened gifts and talked for a little while, and by then I was exhausted.
Cameron is on Christmas break this week, so we took both of the kids shopping with us this week. We went to get my check cashed, then we went to Wal-Mart. We actually only went there to pick up Emily's birthday pictures, but they had a really good sale on chicken, so I grabbed 2 bags. Plus some sauerkraut for New year's Day. We were waiting in line, and there must have been a hole in my pants, because Cameron kept playing with them. Then all of a sudden I heard a rip, heard Cameron laughing and felt a draft. I have honestly never been so mad at anyone in my entire life. I'm sure that a few people saw a glimpse of my underwear. I tied my jacket around my waist and we paid and left. We had to go home and get me some new pants before we could go anywhere else, and the whole way home Cameron cried, and told me he was sorry. We went to Toys R US after I changed pants, because the kids had gift cards to spend. Cameron got some more Army guys, and Emily got some Strawberry Shortcake dolls. Then we went to McDonald's (one of my customers gave me a gift card for there). So they got yet another toy in their Happy Meals. I don't care, though, as long as my babies are happy. They ate pretty good. Then we went to Giant Eagle. I spent $49.69, and I got 3 Duncan Hines frostings, 3 Duncan Hines cake mixes, a Duncan Hines brownie mix, an Aquafresh toothpaste, 6 cans of DelMonte vegetables, 9 jars of Ragu spaghetti sauce, a bag of frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts, 3 Blistex lip balms, a bag of Halls vitamin C, 2 gallons of milk, a jar of Skippy peanut butter, a can of Contadina pizza sauce, a Betty Crocker frosting, a jar of olives, 2 Nestle hot cocoas, a box of Froot loops, a bag of Fresh Express salad mix, a tomato, 2 loaves of bread, a pound of butter, 2 packs of Hormel pepperoni, a pack of pork chops, and a big pack of hot dogs. On the way home we stopped at Dollar General and got 2 packs of Christmas cards.
In the mail I have gotten a package from my brother and sister-in-law, with the kids' Christmas gifts in it, 3 religious booklets, a sample pack of Sunsilk shampoo, a sample of Soft & Dri deodorant, a book, a 2 SMRT 4 U ring, the sale paper and a magazine.
We are having an awesome sale on wrapping paper this week--50 cents a roll! I got some for myself, my mom and my mother-in-law!
I just spent an hour looking for Emily's nailpolish and jewelry. She didn't know where it was, because my niece had taken it. I found it in Emily's lunchbox. I am going to tell my mother-in-law today that my niece is not allowed to play with the stuff on Emily's dresser. Emily already knows it's off-limits.
