On Tuesday we rented Cars, and we have been watching it every day. We saw it in the theater, too, but the kids just love it. I think we will have to buy it for Christmas. Tuesday night, I made chicken, mashed potatoes and broccoli, and for dessert I made zucchini brownies and grated the rest of my zucchini for the freezer, that way I'll have it to bake with all winter. I made the brownies at the same time as the chicken, that way I was only heating the oven once. Thursday night I made hot wings and veggie strips. Dave had to take a can of chicken noodle soup to work the next day because he ate all the wings. I guess they were good. But that was a 3-pound bag of wings! I made the kids macaroni and cheese because I knew they wouldn't eat the hotwings. It has been such a fun week at work. But something good did happen at work yesterday. I was decoding a lot of the merchandise, which is basically taking store names off of it. Since I work in a surplus store, we get stuff from a lot of different stores, and we cannot keep the store names on the stuff. I spent hours and hours (literally) decoding stuff, in between waiting on people and opening boxes and cleaning, etc. After the store closed, I spent all my time just decoding. We close at 7:00, and I got done at 9:00. The owner came in and I said, "Sorry it's taking me so long." She said, "It takes a lot of time to decode stuff. At least YOU do your job, unlike some people." The manager told her that every time she saw me, I was working on it. It is a very rare thing at my job to get praised for anything, so was really excited! I have been pretty busy today. I did 4 loads of laundry, the first of which was my sheets, so I also made the bed, I gave the kids a bath, cleaned Max's cage and gave Max a bath, vacuumed the entire house, cleaned the bathrooms, did the dishes and put some split pea soup in the slow cooker for tonight's supper. My mail for this week hasn't been too exciting. I got a Dove lotion sample, a Basis face soap sample, a magazine, a Nivea body lotion sample, a Trust Jesus wristband and the movies I ordered. I ordered Dave the last 2 Lord of the Rings movies from Amazon.com with a gift certificate I got from a survey company. I got the first movie free with points from another survey company. I did end up spending about $5, plus S&H, but for around $9 I got all 3 movies to go in his Christmas stocking. |

On Thursday a lady yelled at me for 10 minutes because I charged her $1 for the 99 cent lettuce.
She kept yelling, "Yoou can't overcharge me like that. Who do you think you are?" I said, "Don't worry, Ma'am, I will take the penny off your order." I kind of snapped at her, but she was really mean. When I did void the penny off in the middle of her order, I fed the reciept up a little before and after I did it, that way it was isolated on the reciept and she couldn't say I didn't do it.
Yesterday, a lady yelled at me because I let her buy green Christmas lights and she wanted clear ones.
Then she didn't have a reciept, so she blamed that on the garbage man because he took the garbage. I was going to ask her how the reciept got IN the garbage, but I didn't. She kept insisting that I was the one who sold them to her, but I didn't remember her. Finally, I called the manager because she was giving me such a hard time, and we found out that I WASN'T the one who waited on her.
