It seems like so long since I've updated. Last week, Dave brought me a dozen red roses to work for no reason. He's so sweet. Tomorrow's our anniversary--6 years! My mother-in-law will be watching the kids. We are going to the movies and dinner. He took the day off work to be with me.
Cameron had snack day at school last Thursday. We made peanut butter cookies, but instead of using a fork to make the criss-cross design on the top, we used a cookie stamp to make pumpkin shapes on the top. He was so excited!
His teachers said that his behavior is getting much better. I am so glad. I was getting really worried. She said sometimes he won't sit still, but they are working on it and he is getting much better.
My mom made apple dumplings one day, and she brought us a big pan of them. Yummy! I think that was al I had for breakfast that week, which is fine by me! I LOVE apple dumpings!
She also made a lunch at the church one day--ham, green beans and potatoes--and I got some of the leftovers! That made a nice, quick, easy supper Sunday night when I got home from work. Free and easy! My favorite!
I have gotten a lot of good things in the mail lately. I got a free sample of Garden Botanika body butter, a coupon for a free tube of Crest Pro-Health, the makeup I ordered from Smashbox , a booklet about kids and peer pressure, a Schick Quattro razor, a Cortislim sample, 10 stamps from a coupon trade, a Pirates of the Carribean book from an instant win, some address labels, 3 keychains, the sale paper, and 2 samples of Folgers coffee.
Someone broke into the church last week and did a lot of damage. There was a big dinner for district conference, and they had waxed the floor and set up the tables the night before. Someone sprayed the fire extinguishers in the fellowship hall, all over the tables that were set up. The dishes had to be rewashed, the sugar bowls had to be refilled. They dumped Murphy's Oil Soap into the carpet, tore the ceiling down in 1 of the classrooms.... Nothing was stolen, though, thank God. They hired a cleaning service to clean the carpet, and a lot of people from the churchm and some people from neighboring churches all pitched in to clean the place back up. My mom and I were doing the shopping for the dinner, and by the time we got back, it was all cleaned up.
I had a pretty good shopping day on Tuesday. First we went to my work, where I spent $4.50. I got a bag of peanuts and 10 pounds of potatoes. Then my mom had a dentist appointment, so we were there for a little while. Then we went to CVS. I went back to the pharmacy to buy my Advil Cold & Sinus, and I had to sign a book, give the lady my address, phone number, driver's license. All for 2 boxes of cold medicine!! It makes me very sad that the world is coming to this. Anyway, after my coupons, the 2 boxes of cold medicine were 98 cents. I bought the rest of my stuff at the regular counter. I spent $15.32, and I got a bottle of Robitussin, 35 jars of baby food (for a co-worker of mine), 2 packs of Carefree pantiliners, 2 Revlon eyeshadows, 2 Revlon mascaras, a bottle of All Small & Mighty, 3 big bottles of Pantene shampoo, 2 bottles of Purell hand sanitizer, a 4-pack of Pedialyte (for the same co-worker), a big bottle of Pantene conditioner, and a can of Nivea men's shaving cream. I got $3 back from my co-worker for all the baby stuff, and when I checked my account online, I had $45 to spend! Not bad, huh? My mom and I got into different lines, hoping that we'd get done about the same time. I was talking to my cashier (who was very nice), and I happened to notice that her name tag said store manager on it. I said, "Can I ask you a question?" She said, "Sure." So I asked her what her idea of coupon fraud was. She named a few things, and I said, "What about using coupons on clearance items?" She said, "There is nothing wrong with using coupons on clearance items." I told her that I had been accused of coupon fraud the week before for using my coupons on clearance items. I told her that the register had beeped, but I bought exactly what the coupon had stated. She asked for the person's name, and I told her,and she said she would go over the coupon policy with her. I am worried now that the lady will be REALLY rude to me the next time I go in. Oh, well. There is another CVS. We went to the Giant Eagle after that. I spent $48.76, and I got a pack of Pullups, a bag of potato chips, 3 big boxes of Van de kamp's fish, a box of Bagel Bites, a bag of Halls cough drops, 2 packs of Hunt's pudding cups, 4 bags of Ore-Ida french fries, 2 Hungry Man frozen dinners, a bag of grapes, a loaf of bread, a jar of Skippy peanut butter, 3 gallons of milk, a bag of Birds Eye frozen corn, 2 packs of oreos , a family-size pack of pork, a big pack of hot dogs and a family-size pack of chicken legs. Not my best, but ok. I work on it every week. But my freezer is full for the first time in a long time!
Dave and I took the kids trick or treating last night. We had a pretty good time! Emily was JoJo from JoJo's circus, and Cameron was an Army man (just like Uncle Justin!). He had picked out a Ninja costume, but at the last second he threw a big fit and wanted to be an Army man. So I ran back to his closet and dug out a camo sweatsuit, and Dave found a camo boonie hat. Dave had been in the Army quite a few years ago, so he still had his camo face paint. cameron got to wear some of that, plus his daddy's dog tags. He really looked cute! We threw that ooutfit together in 10 minutes and it was cuter than the ninja costume we bought. Emily had her little nose painted red, and she wanted "sparkles" on her face, so I put some glitter on her. We didn't go to very many places, but we sure got a ton of stuff! the people across the street brought them over some treats the night before. My MIL gave them chips and cookies, and candy. My mom gave them coloring books, playdough, pens, stickers (which are now plastered all over the coloring books ), pretzels, pudding cups, candy... My grandmother gave them flashlights and stuffed animals and candy. We went to my work, and Steve got them each a big box of candy and Gail got them each a bag of chips. We went to some of my mom's neighbors' houses, and my mom's best friend's house, and Dave's granfather's house. We went to the grocery store and they got tons of stuff there. Dave and I decided to order Chinese and get the kids McDonald's. The lady at the Chinese restaurant gave them each 3 fortune cookies. The kids got Happy Meals. They were exhausted by the time we got home, but they had fun! They get to dress up again Tuesday for Cameron's school party.
