We finally got some badly needed rain the other night. It came in the form of a thunderstorm, but to be quite honest, I'll take it any way I can get it right now. It was so loud a few times, that all of a sudden there were 2 kids in bed with us. I had pretty good shopping trip yesterday. First we went to Zimmerman's, which is a Mennonite store. I spent $4.35, and I got an elk snack stick for Dave, some dill seed, wheat gluten, a spaghetti squash and some wheat bran. I also gave my mom $1 and we split a bag of vanilla powder. Now we are thinking of all these ways to use it!! We thought of icing and pancakes, and we are thnking up some more ways. Then we went to Giant Eagle. I had to do 2 orders to get the salad dressing deal. This deal wasn't even advertised, and I wasn't going to get any salad dressing becasue I didn't need any, but my friend Hope called to tell me about it and I couldn't pass it up. The Wishbone salad dressing was on sale for 2/$3. If you bought 4 bottles and used 2 75 cents/2 coupons, it came out to 75 cents a bottle after the double coupon. So you spend $3, but when you pay, a coupon comes out for $4 off your next order, so you're making $1! So my first order I only got 4 salad dressings. I used 2 of the coupons, plus a $2 off your next order coupon, making my order $1 for 4 bottles of salad dressing, and I got the $4 coupon back. So I used the $4 off for my next order. I spent $36.51 and I got a bag of boneless skinless chicken breasts, a Banquet dessert bakes, 4 bottles of Wishbone salad dressing, a bag of Lay's chips (for Dave to watch football When I got home from shopping yesterday, I made BLTs. I have a lot of tomatoes coming out of my garden, so I've been trying to have things that use them. I never really cared for tomato, but I tried some on my BLT (I usually just have a BL), and it was ok. I still prefer it without, but I know it's healthy, so I ate my sandwiches with the tomato slices. They were very thin slices though. Last night for supper I had oven-fried chicken legs, mashed potatoes and gravy, and peas. Dave tried to get me to eat a pea, but I had already eatenthe tomatoes, so I wasn't going to push it. Peas are 1 vegetable I can't deal with. In the mail the last 2 days I've gotten the sale paper for next week, Infusium 23 samples, a sample pack of Lysol wipes, 2 magazines and a gospel CD. |

That's ok. They're only little once.
), a loaf of bread, 4 containers of sour cream, a pack of Pillsbury breadsticks, 3 cans of Pillsbury italian loaf bread, a pack of bacon, a DiGiorno pizza (I won a coupon for a free one), a pot roast, a big pack of chicken drumsticks, a bag of salad mix, 3 gallons of milk, a jar of natural peanut butter, a 10-pound bag of potatoes and a pound of butter. Then I got another $4 off coupon to use next week when I go shopping. Not bad!
Tonight we had grilled chicken salads, and Cameron and Emily ate the leftover chicken legs. Cameron was really upset last night because the last time I made chicken I made rolls, and he wanted a roll this time too. So he got a piece of butter bread and that made him happy.
