I had a horrible, horrible day at work, but thank God it all worked out in the end!  My manager helped a lot with that.  A couple came in this morning and they were buying several large items.  One of the items happened to be a wicker furniture set, but we were so busy all day that I hadn't had a chance to look around.  So one of my co-workers was helping this couple, and she was yelling the prices to me as I was ringing them up.  With the noise of the cash register, all the other customers, and the phone constantly ringing, I thought I heard her say 7 @ $35.  I wasn't sure, so I repeated it back to her, and she said yes, so that's what I rang up.  I thought nothing of it until later when I overheard the owner telling one of the cashiers at the other store that I had sold the $735 set.  I was all upset, and I got myself all worked up, and then I remembered that I had their phone number.  So I tried to call them for a long time, and I left a message.  I wasn't sure if I should tell the manager or not, so I told my friend Patty what had happened, and she said I probably should because if she finds out later, she'll be really mad.  The people KNEW i had undercharged them, because there was a sign on the set, and their total was $500 under what it should have been.  I finally decided that I should tell my manager, because if I didn't, it would make me just as dishonest as the couple that bought the stuff.  I leave early on Thursdays, so after I left, she kept trying to call the people for me.  She finally got ahold of someone at their house, and explained what had happened, and they paid the difference.  Well, she put it on their card--we still had the number in our machine.  I am SO thankful.  I mean, as much as I complain about my job, I need it, at least until I get my credit cards and loans paid off.

I made a special treat for Dave tonight for supper--spaghetti and meatballs!  I make spaghetti a lot, but because I get home late, I don't make meatballs too often.  He was excited!  I made garlic toast, too.  I used whole wheat pasta, and no one noticed the difference.  I told him later, but he said he liked it anyway.  I'm glad, because I bought a whole case of it!  There are 12  1-pound packages in a case for $6 where I work.  That's a pretty good deal.

I got the kids each a toy today, too.  They've been so good lately, and we got these cute little cars in for 75 cents each, so I got them each one.  They kept saying, "Thank you, Mama!"
