I just got back from the mother-daughter banquet, and it was really a lot of fun!  The had a speaker there who talked about gardening, and that is something I really want to learn about.  She gave us papers to bring home, so I'm going to punch holes in them so I can put them in my binders.  Everyone got a flower, too.  I'm not much into flowers, just vegetables, so I told my mom she could have mine, but Emily wanted to keep hers.  I'll help her plant it on Monday or Tuesday if the weather is nice.  It is a purple alyssum.  It matched her dress, too!

I hung 2 loads of laundry out today.  I would have done more, but I ran out of clothesline.  I did my towels first, and by the time the washer was done running on the second load, the towels were dry.  It wasn't very warm, but it was windy!  I also cleaned the bathrooms and did the dishes.  I gave the kids a bath this morning, too, so I wouldn't have to worry about it tonight.  Emily wanted her toenails painted, too, so I asked her what color she wanted, and she said, "Pink."  So I picked up a really pretty pale pink, and she said, "No, Mama, I want THAT ONE!"  She was pointing to the brightest pink we have.  It is actually called pink shock.  So that's what color we painted her toes.  Everyone thought they were cute, though, because she had her little sandals on.

I paid all the bills this morning, and I was on my way outside to put them in the mailbox, and Cameron yelled, "Careful, Mama!  Don't step in bird poop!"  It is everywhere.  I was almost scared to hang my clothes out, but nothing got pooped on.  Dave has hosed the porch off a few times now, and it just gets covered again hours later.  Even my mom has cleaned it off a few times.  Yuck!  While I was outside putting the mail in the mailbox, Cameron came running out in only his underwear.  I made him turn around and go back in the house.  I was so mad at him.

When we went to get the mail later on, he had to make sure that no one stepped in the bird poop.  He went last just to make sure.

We stopped at my mom's house on the way home because she had borrowed my Narnia DVD, and she wanted to give it back to me.  Emily said, "Hey this is Pap's house!"  Pap loves me."  Then she saw the swing, and she said, "Pap's swing!  Get me out, Mama."  I said, "Grammy will be out in a minute."  When my mom came out to the van, Emily said, "Grammy, get me out!"

The men served the mother-daughter banquet this evening, and we just happened to get my dad's table.  We just picked one, we didn't know which table he'd be serving.  Emily kept playing peek-a-boo with him.  She is definitely her Pap's girl.

Sorry to hear about the bird poop. Here we get it on our van because they sit in the tree right over our van. One of these days we will cut the tree down.
