I had a pretty productive day today (ok, now it would be yesterday--it's pretty late). I did all my laundry, including the towels, and hung it out on the line. It was so nice today. I did a little bit of weeding in my first garden (there are just onions planted in that one). I didn't spend too much time in that one, because the kids wanted to come out and "help" me, and since they still have a little bit of a runny nose, I didn't want them to come out. I gave them their bath in the morning, so that they would have the rest of the day to just play. I got my little carpet scrubber out and scrubbed the chocolate syrup stain out of my kitchen carpet (I'm not exactly sure who did that one, but I'll give you 2 guesses ). I also did my dishes and put a roast in the slow cooker. I spent a little bit of time online reading some articles, and doing my instant wins and freebies.
I had my roast for supper with potatoes and carrots, and Cameron decided he didn't want to eat--he would rather play. Emily ate the meat, but nothing else. So Cameron was sitting there with his arms foled, pouting and staring at the table, and Dave told him that if he didn't eat, he wan't getting any snacks later. I said, "Yes, Cameron, we will be eating cookies and cake, and you won't be getting any of it!" Well, maybe I shouldn't have opened my big mouth, because he said "I want cake!!" and he started hoving his food into his mouth. I didn't have a cake , so I figured I had better make one since he was eating so good. I asked him what kind of cake he wanted, and he said, "Chocolate!" I said, "Ok, baby." Then he said "I want icing too." I said, "What flavor?" Dave was trying to get him to say peanut butter, and he almost said it, but he said, "Pean--no, I want CHOCOLATE!!" Then he whispered, "I want sprinkles, too, Mama." How could I say no to that? So we had chocolate cake with chocolate icing and sprinkles. Emily usually only eats the icing off of hers, and that's exactly what she did, so she was mad because her sprinkles disappeared. I took her back and put her to bed, and Dave said, "Cameron, it's time for you to go to bed, too." He said, "I am, Daddy, after I eat Emmy's cake." I put a video in for him. He won't go to sleep in his bed, so I usually carry him back there, but I fell asleep before he did, watching the video, so I am just going to go to bed and leave him on the couch for tonight. He always ends up back out there anyway, or he comes to bed with us. I DID get him to take a nap today in his bed. Emily had fallen asleep on her little chair in the living room, and Cameron came to me and said, "I wanna hold you." I knew he was tired, his poor little eyes were getting red and puffy. I held him and rocked him for a few minutes, then I said, "Why don't you go lay down on your bed?" I actually expected him to come running out of there in a few minutes, because there's a monster in his room , but I went back to check on him a little later, and he was sound asleep. I wanted to move Emily off of her chair and into her bed or onto the couch, but every time I do that, she wakes up and won't go back to sleep and then she's grumpy, so I let her go. She still woke up before she wanted to. And she was grumpy. She woke up coughing, and then she cried because she was coughing and she wanted to be sleeping, so I held her for a little while. But then her daddy came home, and I was no longer needed.
I am going to go to bed now. I have to work all day tomorrow, and I need to leave early so I can stop and get my newspapers. There are supposed to be extra coupons tomorrow (well, today ).
