I had a pretty good day today. It was a little productive. Not much, though. We got new phone service today, too. Our internet service provider is now doing phones too, and it is $20 cheaper a month than what we're paying now, plus we get to keep our phone number, caller ID, AND we don't have to pay extra for long distance!!! BUT Dave decided to get an upgrade on our cable, so we really AREN'T saving money! We don't have the movie channels or anything, but at least I'll be able to watch HGTV, the Food network and DIY. Cameron has been having a runny nose (well, it seems to be a bit stuffy at night), and he came to bed with us last night because he wanted to cuddle. He woke up pretty early this morning, and started coughing, which turned to gagging. All that mucous must have been draining down his poor little throat all night, because he got sick 3 times. I did get 2 loads of laundry done today AND hung out. I went out and took them down just before it started raining. The only thing that didn't get completely dry is my work jacket, but it's ok because I have a few more. She gets them printed for us quite often. I made egg salad for Dave's lunches this week with some of those eggs his mom's been bringing over. I tried a new recipe for supper tonight also. It was very good. It is called crispy baked chicken, and I also made mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy and corn. Crispy Baked Chicken 3 boneless skinless chicken breast halves 10 skinless chicken drumsticks 3 eggs 1/2 cup buttermilk 1 1/2 cups water 2 1/2 cups cornflakes, crushed 1 cup flour 2 tablespoons seasoned salt 2 tablespoons margarine, melted Spray 9x13 casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray. Drizzle melted margarine in baking dish. In shallow bowl, combine the corn flakes, flour and seasoned salt. In a larger bowl, combine buttermilk, eggs and water. Dip chicken pieces, 1 at a time, in egg mixture, then in cornflake mixture, then back in egg mixture, thn back in cornflake mixture. Arrange chicken in prepared dish, meatier side down. Bake, uncovered, at 425 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Turn chicken over and bake another 15-20 minutes longer, or until juices run clear. The only chicken I had were some leg quarters, and they worked just fine. I didn't take the skin off of them either. I didn't measure, but I'm pretty sure I used LESS cornflakes and MORE flour than it called for, and it was still delicious. |

I got up and did the dishes this morning. I also put in a load of laundry while I went and got dressed. Then my mom came and we went grocery shopping. I spent $35!! Not too bad, huh? We went to the store where I work (like I'm not there enough
) and I spent $4 there. I got some pears and a cookie sheet. Then I spent the rest at the grocery store. I got 3 gallons of milk, a pack of Pull-Ups, 2 24-packs of toilet paper, 2 loaves of bread, a container of cottage cheese, some grapes, a Chef Boyardee bowl of ravioli, 2 packs of marshmallow peeps and 2 bags of oreos. It doesn't sound like much, does it? I had a few coupons to cover the things I got, but I really didn't need anything. Not anything I had to pay for, anyway. There wasn't much on sale that I could get free with coupons, so I'll just use things I have in my stockpile. My mom and dad got back yesterday from my brother's house in Virginia, and my mom brought me a newspaper from there. Sometimes the coupons are different, sometimes they're not.
I felt so bad for him. Now Emily's nose is getting runny. I hate when my babies are sick!!
