Its MONDAY, and I am blessed (with new cookware!!)
The past week or so has been really busy for me, which is why I have neglected my posting.
Last summer, my hubby and I went to a "waterless cookware" demonstration. They show you how you can cook entire meals in 30 minutes, using no water, so you can retain the raw qualities of your fruits and veggies. This really appealed to me, because I love raw foods, but it is quite a lifestyle change to go all the way into a raw food diet. I wanted this cookware soooo bad, but it was way out of our price range, at about $3,000.00 for a complete set. I know many people have made the wise investment with top quality cookware, but we were simply unable to afford it in our budget. We are trying to get out of any and all debt, and felt guilty if we were to add more.
Sometimes, the Lord just likes to give good gifts!! We received our stimulus check last week, and hubby said it was ok for me to look around on ebay to see if I could get a good price on a used set of waterless cookware. I took a chance bid on a brand new set, not even knowing the brand name. I won the bid for 199.95. After the auction, I was so surprised to find that it was nutri*stahl, which retails new for $1995.00. I guess someone purchased a couple of sets, and just decided they couldn't handle the learning curve!!
Its not saladmaster, but, it is still a very good quality waterless cookware system. It is very heavy and thick, and my first meal turned out great!! The carrots and broccoli retained their bright colors, even after cooking, and the reduced starch mashed potatoes were really wonderful!
I have also been trying different bread recipes, and I simply cannot decide which I like the best! The most recent recipe yielded 4 large loaves and was a light and soft texture. I am trying bigger recipes, because I can't seem to keep bread in this house!! Everyone who walks through my door wants BREAD!
(but I dont mind, breadmaking has become quite an enjoyable chore hobby for me!)
Today, its snack day. Hubby really loves taking homemade stuff to work for his breaks and such.
I know I have promised to post my bread recipe. Its coming in my next post!!
Blessings, Kim (the little sister)

Ok...I'm waiting on that light bread recipe. My standard recipe yields 6 loaves, but I don't mill my grains for it...I buy Prairie Gold flour. I need to mill my grains far more often than I currently do, but I have a serious learning curve with the gritty-ness of the grain and everything turning out a bit more on the heavy side. I'm learning, though, and recipes are always welcome.
Great news on the cookware. I've heard a lot of talk about the waterless cookware. I can't wait to hear how you like it!

Wow, that cookware is expensive but hopefully worth it. Having read few things on waterless cookware I was wondering how well it works, so please give us an update after you start using it!
Many Blessings,
Monica
